I didn't hate Pillars. I played it for maybe 10 hours and got bored of it though. It's a shame, I really enjoyed the aesthetics, it just somehow had WORSE mechanics than games from 20 years ago in an attempt to seem retro.

Divinity: Original Sin is fucking amazing, and its sequel will hopefully be even better what with being able to have 4 created characters.
WRPG's have always sucked compared to rpg modules anyway, and the best part about original sin is that you can play it with your friends.

Both Dragonfall and Hong Kong are fucking great, I'd rate Dragonfall as a 9/10, and Hong Kong as an 8/10. Both are fantastic RPGs, Returns wasn't that great however, probably about a 6/10.

Both SR:DF and SR:HK had this feature, as well as a "rewind" option for saves, which I've never actually seen done in another game.
It doesn't excuse how sloppy SRR was, but they certainly learned form their mistakes in the sequels and made some phenomenal games.

I've saved Baldur's Gate 1&2, Icewind Dale 1&2, Planescape: Torment and Fallout 1&2 in a few CDroms, a few DVDs and an USB and buried them in my backyard. When I'm about to die, I'll tell my grandchildren to stop playing Final Fantasy LXVII-2 on their Playstation Nova 6 or the new Call of Duty reboot with the Survival Caveman DLC, find an old PC in an antiquity store and run the games I left them.
If I left stuff like the shit we're forced to see nowadays, they would throw it to the garbage. But these are good games.

Playing PoE atm, got to what I believe is called Act 2 (got to the city and a new narrative happened) and have done all the side quests, party level 10, Od Nua level 12 or 13, am about to try the expansion, have played for quite some time now, this is my first cRPG, so:

Never encountered it. Rarely, if ever, have I felt the dialogues to be overwhelming. And I don't really enjoy that much text in games (couldn't get over Inquisitor).

This striked me as odd as well, but you do have exp for the first few mobs of a type you kill, so logically it's not that bad (if you fight 100 wolves, you won't learn much new in terms of fighting them after the 10th you've killed I would imagine).

I admit that it kinda sucks that they don't talk more in other areas as well, though.
