Come anons. Surely you have stories about old friends from games
lol /v/ Missed Connections thread.
>play UO for 8 years
>on Catskills
>always competing with a guy name Animal Control
>one day on irc he says "anon someone's at my door if I'm not back in 30 minutes call the police"
>probably 15 yes old at the time, do nothing about it
>tfw he just sat in Brittania and irc afk for months
>tfw he assumed his buddy would call the cops for him but did nothing and he died a horrible death
>play WoW vanilla on maelstrom
>dont enjoy it very much
>random guy invites me to party by 'accident' and he says i could stick it with them for quests
>we talk and play for hours
>suddenly game is enjoyable
>this guy's name is Adrian
>foirever online
>his bff talked to me about Adrian
>Adrian suffers from depression and spends all his free time in WoW and other videogames
>a year later try to quit WoW to play other games with my RL buddies
>try to drag Adrian and his bff with me
>Adrian refuses and he says he doesn't want to me to quit WoW
>still login and raid with them twice per week
>storm strikes my craptown
>no internet+tv for a week
>go back to WoW after 2 weeks
>Adrian offline
>ask about him on his guild
>no one knows
>his bff offline as well
>spend the rest of my gametime coming online waiting for them to show up
probably he killed himself and his bff could not bear with it
>>332417729
He probably manned the fuck up and sorted out his life.
>Best friend online or otherwise had a generic as fuck name
>No chance in hell I will ever see him again
Feels terrible
I hope you kept up your side of the promise, Wolf.
>played WoW since release
>never made a single friend
>a few real life friends play but they are way too "serious" about raiding and shit
>I didnt even join a real raiding guild before Wrath
>quit after Cataclysm came out
I did play Lotro a lot though on the side, and made a lot of friends there, but the community were really different I guess. Less "hardcore" centric, even though the raids/instances were a lot harder than WoW and demanded a lot more co-operation and tactics.
I've lost count of the amount of friends lost, feels shitty thinking about it but I'm sure they all made it just fine
