Beat the game last night. It's not as good as BB or even DaS1 but at least it's better than DaS2.

Nope. From the get go people were critical to the game, complaining about ADP, visuals, poise, movement mechanics, enemy AI and more, though people did acknowledge the minor improvements the game brought as well. The mediocre graphics are probably the biggest reason why people didn't start with a good first impression at all.

I liked all the souls games, even dark souls 2, so none of them are bad in my opinion. Some are better though for certain people. All about preference I suppose.
DaS3 isn't up there cause I haven't played it yet, but I know I'll love it. The souls series hasn't let me down yet, and I doubt they will

This, and I agree. The game did grow on me to some extent and subsequent playthroughs were clearly more enjoyable, since you can proceed with much faster pace.
Still not as good as DeS/DaS, but another okay RPG for the 2010's.
