When the fuck is the VR gimmick going to fucking die? Are we going to have to wait five years like we did with motion controls for everyone to bang their heads against a wall, realize it's terrible and expensive and quite frankly not at all compelling, and then pretend it never happened? Because i'm already getting tired of seeing it take up space on news sites. It's become a bigger meme than 4k at this point.

t. poorfag
it needs to actually start before it can die and get forgotten, it's still mostly in the preparation phase right now
>>332403903
look at those perfect teeth.
Due to this blatant photoshopping I ordered vive
The gimmick hasn't begun yet. No games have been released that are mainly only used for VR. That being said it will prob be like 3D and stay awhile but mostly fade away.
>5 years
that's how long I'm gonna wait before actually considering it, so there's actually interesting software available
if there isn't, well too bad I'll just forget it
>>332404475
>that's how long I'm gonna wait before actually considering it
Before you can afford it you mean.
>>332404810
but I can afford every single one of them at the same time right fucking now
but I have about as much reason to buy any of them as I have to buy a Xbox One
VR gimmick will be killed only by VR reality. around december when you'll be seeing constant news stories about shortagesdue to corporate/industrial/government contract purchases. The secret about VR is that it isn't about games at all - it's a digital workflow revolution.
>>332404475
Pretty sure there are already hundreds of compatible games.
>>332405224
>compatible
it's essentially a regular game where you control the camera with your neck -- not something intended and built around VR
>>332403903
Maybe stop being a poor fuck? I preordered two VR headsets to pick a fave and I'll give the other to my brother.
Sorry you won't be advancing along with technology because you're a poor faggot.
>>332403903
It's a pretty niche thing. Don't get me wrong, it's neat, and there's a lot of hype surrounding it (like most gimmick products); but I don't think the average consumer see VR as being a serious gaming device.
It's one of those things people would be interested in playing around with for a bit. Like if your friend had one, you'd check it out, but that's about it.
After release, the hype is going to die down, and everyone will move on to the next thing. Wii, Wii U, Ouya, PS Move, Kinect, 3D functionality, etc.

Ok...GW

When the fuck is the 3D gimmick going to fucking die? Are we going to have to wait five years like we did with motion Doom clones for everyone to bang their heads against a wall, realize it's terrible and expensive and quite frankly not at all compelling, and then pretend it never happened? Because i'm already getting tired of seeing it take up space on news sites. It's become a bigger meme than network enabled games at this point.

>average consumer see VR as being a serious gaming device
>average consumer dont see VR as being a device for consumers
You need to create market.now its the fucking time to come up with some cool edgy shitty idea to make money out of this, when its green and there are no real plans for this, even a shitty idea as flappy bird made millions, imagine being the flappy bird of VR
>>332406046
This.
>le look I'm so edgy and smart guys I hate new things do I fit in pleeeease XD
>poorfags are mad because they can't pirate vr
>>332407150
>would you download a HMD???
When the fuck is the HD gimmick going to die? 100% serious, I still have a 15 inch SD television and I can tell you there's literally no difference. Everyone acts like it matters, but it's just a bunch of fucking pretentious douches acting like they're better than me
>>332404810
tell me one game im missing out on that isnt a tech demo
>>332407886
3D tv are super alive, right?
>>332409939
EVE Valkyrie
>>332409939
Luckys Tale.
Darknet.
Fly to Kuma.

You realize that a single failed trend doesn't negate the entire history of technology?
>>332403903
It won't die because it's great for porn.
Everything from the internet to VHS was powered by porn at the beginning.
>>332403903
>>332403903
>No it's around to stay this time from the looks of it.
there's something like a 60 game catalog in the works or already released, not to mention it supersedes in a big way, things like Track-IR (maybe not at price point)
>>332411881
The Internet was powered by military research and academia in the beginning.
I can't wait to get my headset. If I don't like it I can just sell it to someone else and make my money back. Literally no downsides.
