I've been using Windows 10 for months and in a shocking twist it's perfectly fine.
I can still pirate games, the FBI hasn't broken down my door, and everything runs fairly smooth.

A quick google search away are many sources for m$'s stated intentions to turn w10 into a service, releasing updates for free, like apple. There's an ad serve system in there, being tried out now, and will probably play a heavier part in windows revenue in the future.

They already use the ad systems anon, I just happen to have all that shit turned off. I know they plan on making W10 a service with X amount of free updates before needing to pay for more as well.
I have ads, and Cortana turned off and used an external program to block it sending shit to MS.
I'm content, the OS runs well and the intrusive shit isn't a problem for me. It's the 7 to 8's Vista, effectively.

So why not use 7? Even 8 with a couple of hours tweaking is very similar to 7. 7 is their best OS by far. Microsoft used to be a great company, but when the real experts leave or die or they just forget how to make their product and what made them great this is what happens. Predicting their slow decline over 10 years unless someone makes some non-investor-friendly hard decisions.
