Play the fucking game.
If you already played it but you don't remember it's not a fake evidence, then play the game again.
>>332396025
>it's not a fake evidence
It literally is.
He used forged evidence to convict Kristoph.
Yes. Kristoph couldn't have proved the card was forged without dragging himself into even further shit by admitting he had taken the real bloody card. A major theme of the game was that sometimes the perfect proof does not exist for one reason or another, and Phoenix devised ways to make sure Kristoph wouldn't get away despite that, first with the forged evidence and then with the jury system.
DD then went all "the end doesn't justify the means" and completely missed the point established in 4, but to be fair no other game in the series before or after 4 tried to challenge its views legitimately.
>>332396114
>no other game in the series before or after 4 tried to challenge its views legitimately.
Have you already forgotten about 1-5 and the whole deal with Gant using forged evidence to get Joe Darke convicted?
>>332396316
But didn't he only do that so he could blackmail Lana?
>>332396512
No, he blackmailed Lana by killing Neils and making it look like Ema did it (for Lana). Gant's plan was to pin the blame on Darke and get him convicted, so he also forged some evidence for Edgeworth to prosecute him.
>>332396114
Phoenix was lying.
It's not forged evidence, it's the card from years ago
Jog my memory for a bit but did Phoenix ever unlock Kristoph's black Psyche Locks?
>>332397604
Nope.
>>332396316
currently replaying through PW and now I just started 1-5.
1-4 was quite the ride, can't wait for shit to get hyped on this last case.
>>332396025
Nigga it's forged
he literally forged evidence despite being disbarred for it
>>332396114
>DD then went all "the end doesn't justify the means"
Really fucking hate this tbqh.
They backpedaled so hard and tried to make Phoenix look like the pure, noble, never do wrong attorney who always wins clean.
>>332397539
There is no "card from years ago", what are you thinking about? Phoenix began playing poker sometime after being disbarred, but there were no incidents until the one which triggered the first case.
>>332397604
There was no explanation for those in AJ.
DD had black psyche locks too but they explained them in a way that doesn't fit Kristoph's case at all.
>>332397604
>>332400165
Yeah, the black locks in 4 were clearly intended as an extension of the theme of perfect evidence not always existing. Kristoph knew Phoenix couldn't possibly have a way to prove he killed Drew Misham using legitimate evidence, so his conviction about not confessing was absolute. In 5, they are instead defined as secrets the bearer is consciously unaware of.
>>332400165
>>332400367
that was a huge load of bullshit.
You mean to tell me that during a whole year, Phoenix NEVER bothered to ever ask Pearl or Maya what was up with those black locks he saw?
No, it wasn't until Athena got them that he IMMEDIATELY needed to know what the fuck was up with them
>>332395895
Phoenix did nothing wrong
>>332400612
It was intentional so that DD would have less references to AJ.

>>332395895
Literally nothing about this AA game was memorable to me.
>>332399717
The point of DD as a whole was to try to make the series have SOME hope left in it since literally every single other game (AA through AJ) had forgery, coaching, lying under oath, mass judicial and political corruption, extortion, blackmail, abuse of discretion, and legalized corruption... all by people who hold power within the system.
And it's not like DD turned Phoenix into some goody2shoes either, he just wanted to save people the honest way like he and Miles agreed on all those years ago. It's better to change the system from the inside rather than becoming a demon yourself.
Of course I think DD should've touched more on what went on in AJ, but then again I heard AJ was basically funded by Japan for their brief tenure with the jury system that was scrapped anyways.

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney is not a spin-off, it's the 4th entry in the main series
The spinoffs are the two Investigations games (of which the second one is widely regarded as one of the best in the entire series), and Layton vs Ace Attorney (seen as decent fun usually, especially if you're also fond of Layton games)
You can play these spinoffs at any point after the original trilogy
Canonically the Investigations games take place between the trilogy and AJ though

IMO The original Trilogy is the best.
Apollo Justice is good too and it sets the stage for another trilogy that never happened. So when playing that one you just kind of have to keep in mind that these characters were meant to grow later on.
THEN the writers changed for Dual Destinies and that game was an OOC mess that didn't really lead anywhere
The Investigations games were written by Takumi too but the first one is very stale, while the one after that (which can only be played by a fan translation + emulator) is one of the best titles in the ace attorney series.
But play all of them and decide for yourself. The original trilogy is amazing by itself and you can always stop there.

Absolutely not, and he put Apollo in the same exact position he was in years ago and could have ruined his career on top of it.
It was reckless and stupid.
>>332427448
>Apollo Justice is good too
Good job on invalidating your own post.
>>332427448Did AAI happen after or before nick got his badge taken away?
>>332427448
>The Investigations games were written by Takumi too
No they weren't.
>>332427448
Takumi had nothing to do with Investigations, and AJ isn't "good too". DD tried to fix the mess that AJ was.
>>332427604
Before, you can see him in the background with his attorney suit on, hanging out with maya.
It's possible that AAI games take even place before T&T.
>>332427448
Fuck you I really like Dual Destinies
5-1 is eh, it's an opening case. It's fine.
5-2 is the obligatory 'case with annoying weirdish characters', but it's still fun and has an amazing reverse twist
5-3 is awesome
5-4&5 should've been one case, but nonetheless, great stuff, classic final case material.
DLC case is fun and surprisingly good.
DD is way better than AJ
>>332427780
which case was this
>>332427772
And DD failed.
Lets hope 6 is better.
>>332427780
I believe they're after T&T. Edgeworth and Franziska reference cases about "flying people" in AAI. (2-3 and 3-5)
>>332427780
AAI takes place some time after T&T since they reference 3-5 in AAI-5.
>>332428154
Third case in AAI.
Final case in AAI2.
>>332428154
the one at the amusement park in the first game, and the one with wannabe-godzilla in the second game.
>>332428154
The last case of AAI2 shows Nick and Maya looking up at the tower if you examine the dent a second time.

All this talk of references and appearances when it's really quite simple

Furio Tigrecomes back in AA6.
>>332428708
That doesn't look anything like Furio. He has the full jersey shore tan going on.

Too much feels, can't show that on a blue board.

Here you go, Judge
>>332427604
Before.
Actually, AAI2 happens about a week before
>>332428120
DD is pretty good by virtue of the fact all of it's cases are really solid and there are no overwhelmingly annoying witnesses in any of the cases. For an AA game that's quite the achievement. Plus it was the first game ever since the.... first... game... that actually had a competent opponent in the form of Blackquill. If you like Fran, Klavier and Godot as characters then fine; however they were all AWFUL prosecutors and opponents.
DD's biggest problem was pretty much just bringing Nick back and trying to make him the MC again. It was nice however to get some more expansion on Apollo. Hopefully in AA6 he and Trucy actually find out they're related.
>>332428120
Nah man Dual Destinies was absolute shit.
Everyone was out of character and had forced "tragic backstories" that came out of absolutely nowhere. You don't even MEET Clay and you're expected to care about him.
Fuck that. Also, Edgeworth accusing someone of accidentally killing their parent while trying to save them. Yeah ok.
>>332427685
weren't they? I thought they were but i guess i was wrong ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
>>332429705
okay, too bad for you
I liked it and there's nothing you can do about it
>>332429419
Just reminds me of some webcomic that joked about Apollo and Trucy getting in a relationship and engaged and everything, and on their wedding they get told they're actually brother and sister :^)
