Tripwire isn't making this. This is made by the guys behind the first Rising Storm expansion.

RO2 had such a catastrophic launch because of the many bad decisions they made to cater to the BF/CoD crowd and their avertising campaign which left them pennyless and forced the release.

Lack of experience isn't an excuse. Tripwire is full of cucks who didn't hesitate to shit on their community when they thought they had a window to compete against bigger shooters.

I can't stand Red Orchestra 2.
I've played tons of FPSs, and none feel so sluggish and unresponsive as Red Orchestra does.
RO2 is the only game I've played where I can't land shots consistently. I don't know what it is about the game specifically but I just can't figure out how the aiming mechanics work. It seems like the bullets have a 50/50 chance to go where you actually shoot because half the time I can pick off a running guy at 100m and then I do the same thing again and this time he gets away unharmed.
The Japanese sniper rifle is the worst about this. I straight up took the thing to test it, and I don't know if the server was fucked or what, but the shots were not only going high buy about one notch to the LEFT of the sights.

I just can't stand how the game feels. It feels bad, really fucking bad, and incredibly inconsistent.

but the weapons and feel of the gunplay in this game are straight up fantastic once you know whats up. Not perfect or always polished (i don't like how melee feels) but solid as shit

There is spread and different muzzle velocities for every gun. You have to practice with them. Also server admins can choose between client side and server side hit detection which may lead to inconsistency and before you ask

Are you using the type 99? It is a much heavier round and has greater bullet drop and muzzle flash than the 96. I don't recommend it.

I get incredibly inconsistent results.

And the fucking suppression mechanic is ass retarded. I'm straight up playing with a guy who can't aim straight if an explosion so much happens once about 500m away, if a bullet comes within 50 feet he starts flinching and screaming, and look, despite all this, I can consistently go positive and kill fucktons of people. Because flanking is some never before heard of mechanic I guess I don't know, it's not hard to get a lot of kills.
It's hard to get every kill I put my sights on.

And I fucking know it's the rifle's and regular weapon's mechanics because the mounted machine guns don't have the shitty molasses feel to them and I can do some real fucking work on those things just like I can any other shooter. The rifle mechanics are assburgers and I refuse to play at an actual disadvantage where my guy is a screaming rookie who gets shell shocked when he sees an empty shell casing. Apparently the higher your level the less shell shock you get, not to mention the bonus attachments for ranking up your weapon.
It's not even like these things unlock quickly. They take tens of hours to unlock.

I get an LMG and deploy it and I almost never miss, I hop on an HMG and I almost never miss. Jump in a tank and it feels like cheating. It may have just been the server, but I tested this rigorously. I was using the Jap sniper on some wood I'd say 25-30m away and the shots were going high and left. Consistently high and left.

While you're at it I recommend forcing a higher FOV and turning off load shaders on demand in rogame and roengine respectively. Shaders on demand drastically decreases load time but may cause lag during arty. Also when you're done setting your fov change the file to read only.

No...It barely has any of the fucking assets, almost everything in the trailer was ripped from RS. Weapon sounds, character voices, some of the building models. And at the start of the trailer it clearly says that it's in pre-alpha. I'm talking about better from a gameplay standpoint, as I didn't see a major improvement with the ballistics, although I didn't have the same problem you had with Ostfront.

The added realism of ballistics doesn't make RO2 a better game than Ostfront, the latter simply has the better selection of maps, guns, and vehicles, on top of what I believe to be a better gameplay flow.

Actually its a statement on availability of internal components and sights/attachments. A "true" AK would use the russian rail system that doesn't use the NATO standard the picatinny uses therefore making attachments less plentiful. The newer AK's being produced by Russia are starting to use a rail system similar to the picatinny. Same issue with internal components, a lot of various countries AKs don't have the ability to swap parts while most AR's can use the parts from other AR's.

AR and AK are different rifles for different jobs with none being better over the other.

Except AK-74's. 5.45 is the worst fucking cartridge and every AK owner hates it and prefers 7.62.

Want marksman or LMG AR15, just change the upper.
If you need more modification, barrels and everything come off easily.
AK\s are all riveted on, making them less modular than the AR15 by a very large margin.
