I know it has something to do with accepting humanity and in DMC4 conversation between Agnus and Dante they drive home the message how despite not having physical powers that demons do, human posses something that demons don't (heart? soul? determination? whatever).
But this notion directly contradicts Sparda's action and Lady's monologue at the end of DMC3. Sparda is a full blooded demon and yet he rebel against his own kind for the sake of weak humans. Nero at the end of DMC4 said that "he knows Sparda had a heart" or something like that. Same deal with DMC3 epilogue,

That was also the main conflict between Vergil and Dante in DMC3.
Dante didn't want to accept his demonic side, he just wanted to be a guy.
Vergil on the other hand thought that humans were weak and powerless, which meant that if he was human he couldn't protect those he cared about, so he tried to get Dante to accept his demonic side and he himself tried to renounce his humanity.
In the end Dante accepted his demonic side, remained human and he trounced Vergil who was too far gone to be saved, hence the "i need more power" line.

Donte's animations make look sloppy and inexperienced, which makes sense in context given his age and attitude, but there also this "brutal" feeling behind the execution of his attacks, especially the arbiter
