Pretty easy to understand if you've been paying attention to Overwatch. Blizzard essentially announced the game with the "we are looking to create the most diverse and inclusive cast of characters ever" angle. They got a lot of good press for having that attitude when the game was announced, and have essentially bent over backwards to get more and more of it.
It's blizzard's intention to create this bland pc-climate friendly video game and if you're mad about that don't blame the SJW's, blame activision blizzard, probably figured out in some market focus-group testing that having the pro-diversity angle for their new title increases revenue by some decent %.

the thing is, censorship would be fine. Actual, government-enforced censorship, with a set of coherent rules about what you can and cannot put in your games. Tsarist russia censored everything, and so russian authors wanting to shit-talk the tsar, but working within the constraints of censorship, produced some of the finest literature of their time.
If games were really censored, you'd see people using their creativity to get around the rules, and probably some entirely rule-abiding but incredibly sexual female characters.
