Nah, started with DaS in 2011 on Xbox and have been a fan of the series ever since. That being said, I think Bloodborne is definitely the best in the series. The combat/weapons are clearly the best in the series. As is the art direction, music, boss fights, you name it. I understand some people were disappointed that there isn't an equipment load, but I really don't think it added much depth to the series in the first place. Also, Old Hunters is unmatched in terms of quality.

Awful from a gameplay perspective. Byrgenwerth is fantastic appearance-wise, just as Ash Lake is, but they both suck dick in terms of offering anything fun or interesting to do. At least Byrgenwerth has a good boss fight and is relevant to the plot, whereas Ash Lake is entirely optional and is not even rewarding to discover.
Bloodborne is easily the best out of them all imo.
It may lack content relatively speaking but the game is just pure quality from start to finish.
You could remove leveling, stats and different equipment from Bloodborne and it would still be a fantastic game. Not that I think they should, but you get my point.

Hemwick is amazing. It's your first opportunity to get out of the density of the city into a rural environment, and is especially rewarding. Excellent layout with lots to do, and it really gets you excited to approach the keep, let alone to potentially get to Cainhurst. Even the Witch boss isn't that bad, since it is at least creative enough to make use of insight.
Forbidden Woods offers a similar experience, and that little town near the start with the bridges and traps is amazing. It only starts to fall apart when it gets to the snakes, but even then, it still accomplishes the feeling of a forest completely unlike anything done in any of the Souls games, which have forests more commonly. The maze-like construction totally dominates the linearity of forests in Dark Souls. One again, it has a weaker boss, but it's still challenging and interesting to a new player, as they have faced several beast fights in a row, and need a break with hunter-style combat.

BB vanilla is pretty good but the mechanics are what carry it. By far the best combat of any Souls game.
BB DLC is the best content Fromsoft has ever released.
I'd argue BB is my favorite Souls game to replay. It's relatively short since half the bosses are optional and getting any of the weapons with some exceptions early game is pretty simple.
I can see why some people might not like it 60fps meme and barely any magic but honestly if you can't look past its minor flaws then you definitely shouldn't be looking past the flaws in the other Souls games either which are fucking numerous.

Rolls have about the same iframes as the other games as far as I can tell. Combat is the best cause you have the most options in a fight. In the other games you get hit and your only option is kill them or heal yourself to get out of the danger zone. In BB regain adds an entire other aspect to a fight. Beastblood pellets incentivize aggressive playstyles and transformation attacks are fun as fuck. All that in addition to its probably twice as fast paced as the other games.
