Tipping is a scam creating by greedy companies and greedy waiters would would rather have the chance of making more than they possibly could anywhere else and complaining when they don't.

Restaurants should simply increase the costs of the food they sell and actually pay their workers instead of convincing them that it is the customer that they need to blame even though it is the company that allows customer to now pay if they don't feel like it.

Waiters and servers/etc should get paid properly not on this merit system bullshit. Prove me fucking wrong.

that way, instead of listening to cheap fuckers whining "why am i expected to tip?" we could listen to them whining "why can't i afford pizza?"

what the fuck kind of logic is this? What I'm saying benefits the fucking worker. Aren't people who work in this industry fucking tired of their being a chance they don't make ends meet because someone decided they should get payed. How can this possibly be defended.

I'm going to need real answers from this point on.
>>
>>332358093
So tell me how I'm wrong so we can end this tipping shit forever. Let's fix this shit and make it work. I don't think these workers should get stiffed. I think that shit is wrong but I think "tipping" is a flawed system that doesn't work and only leads to people complaining when they don't get paid enough or not saying anything when they get paid properly. Instead of just getting paid properly consistently. I want to understand how tipping works and how it's justifiable.

I mean operating under the assumption that the server works full time most likely makes just a smidge above minimum or is at minimum wage then their paychecks will be decent but they will most likely be living paycheck to paycheck, with tips it makes life more manageable it is essentially what you live off of in the mean time.

>making minimum wage AND tips
Dude wat. Do people actually make minimum wage and tips? More of my friends who work like this make WAY below minimum wage like 2 dollars an hour and their tips are their actual form of payment. The hourly just covers taxes and tips are so good the government specifically allows under minimum wage payment.

Shit If I made minimum wage and tips for a job that require no experience or education I would hop on this asap. I'm for 15/hr too.
>>
>>332358301
And what dickhead place are you going to that makes you tip on a meal that costs $10? Are you high?
>How can this possibly be defended.
Because waiters make more money than someone on a wage by a long fucking shot and it's all up to how good they are.

I haven't worked as a waiter since 2007 but I made $3 an hour wage. However, I also made on average $6 per person, assuming they tip 20%, that came in to eat. On a normal day I made on average of around $100. Tell me what's more.
Making $100 off of tips alone on average.
or
Working 8 hours for $7.50 an hour for an astounding... $60!

paying the same amount for digital as a hard copy.....
>>
>>332359991
Holy shit

Why are you talking about how some one would get payed more by tipping then by working minimum wage? That isn't the fucking argument at all.

Let me be fucking clear so there is no confusion.

I believe restaurants should pay their workers through a CONSISTENT system not one that allows it's customer to not pay them if they FEEL like it. I am not implying tipping should be removed in order to for workers to get payed minimum wage, specifically 7.25 or what ever the current minimum wage is in that state. I believe the tipping system should be removed and replaced by an hourly system like any other job. If people are willing to tip and pay a certain amount they should be willing to pay that same amount except remove the idea of it being a "tip" and instead just the cost of the service period.

under the current system workers can get screwed or robbed by customers and business owners. Tipping should be REMOVED and workers be compensated PROPERLY.
>>
>>332362508
And by removing that tipping system, the people that are good at service and with people are getting shafted and the only reason they would ever receive tips after that point would be because they used to give tips and might out of habit. Who in their right mind would willingly take a wage less than the $12.50 I got on average?
>If people are willing to tip and pay a certain amount they should be willing to pay that same amount except remove the idea of it being a "tip" and instead just the cost of the service period
That's exactly what a tip IS you knobhead. Waiters hardly do shit outside of servicing the customer so why shouldn't the customer directly pay the waiter for his work with them? If he does a shit job he gets a shit tip and vice versa. If the waiter does a shit job and gets a shit tip and complains, then he's an asshole. If he does a good job and he gets a shit tip, then the customer's an asshole, which is rare especially in higher class places. I have never met a waiter that wished he was working a cash register for many dollars less per hour on average because there's the slight chance one of his many customers undertips him, meanwhile he leaves the restaurant with all of that tip money as cash in his pocket. It's so clear you have no clue what you're talking about. And keep in mind, $12.50 was a theoretical average of my old pay. I made easily $15 an hour most of my days and on certain holidays double or triple that if I happen to work a long shift through lunch and dinner.

So in the end, tipping provides more money than not tipping so fuck off with this

It doesn't matter if it pays more or less. The system is broken If I can simply not pay the tip If I don't want to and this is ok?

Of course someone is going to take more money then less. By this logic they should be considering getting another job if the amount they make is a deciding factor.

You constantly keep talking about how much MORE money you can make by accepting tipping. You keep disregarding how someone can simply NOT tip and this is ALLOWED. Specifically talk about this instead of incentives because that is not the point I'm talking about or bringing up.

You can make 12-15 in many jobs without education and thats fucking great so how much you make isn't a fucking talking point. What I'm saying and have been consistently saying but you have not addressed once is how abusable and broken this system is.

Shut the fuck up about 15 an hour. Assume if tipping was removed the job would PAY 15/hr but no tipping. Restaurants are already fucking doing this. If you've forgotten ther is someone running for president that wasn't the raise the minimum wage to 15/hr already so get that shit out of your head already and start talking about the points I'm bringing up instead of random irrelevant shit. You are arguing against things I already agree with but not against the broken parts of this system you love so much.

Why is getting paid 15/hr worse than minimum wage or less + tips which amount to 15 an hour but there is a chance you could make less because it's "slow" or people are dicks?

What the fuck.
>>
>>332364227
>this is ok
It's not and that's completely on you if you don't. Just make sure to check your food for spit or cum the next time you go there if you do.
>You can make 12-15 in many jobs without education
If you look decent, can stay hygienic, and speak like you're not an antisocial neet, you can wait tables. A lot of other jobs involve some actual ability for that much money and a lot of other jobs involve taking home a responsibility as well while waiting stays at work.
>Assume if tipping was removed the job would PAY 15/hr but no tipping
If I assumed there was no tipping, there's not a single god damn place in my town that would pay out $15 to a waiter per hour and my area is a very stable place when it comes to economic fluctuation.
>Why is getting paid 15/hr worse than minimum wage or less + tips which amount to 15 an hour
Because minimum wage+tips doesn't exist and if it did it certainly would not add up to over $15 per hour.
It has a risk but that risk is low and the higher pay, that is almost completely dependent on how you work, is worth it to most people. If a certain place's risk is a little too high then people won't work there. Waiters are not stupid. If they see a place that serves food that often comes out not prepared properly, they're likely to not even bother applying there. You fucking act like the risk of a customer not tipping is going to fucking cause someone to go under and like it's an occurrence that's out of hand when it's borderline sinful to not tip someone when you're supposed to and a waiter has to really be shit for someone to not tip in almost all situations. All you're doing is speculation and it's pointless and stupid and only makes you out to be stupid because you're basing it on hypotheticals rather than what actually happens. I'm done talking with some armchair fearmonger making mountains out of molehills. It's a waste of time.

That job sucked.

Some people were outright retarded with how the packaged their things though. I'm assuming a Mom was sending their college age kid a "care package" of candy, chips, some movies/games, all stuff you could get at any wal mart/target/anything. But for some reason they thought it was a good idea to package it with Mountain Dew cans. Everything got ruined, and the truck was sticky.

I worked at ups and this shit is funny.

I've dropped 60 inch TV's from the the very top height of a trailer to the floor just by yanking it until nothing is holding it up and it slams on the ground. It's not just me being a dick it's how it works. You literally have to claw into walls of packages and throw them on a conveyor or throw them into the trailer from a conveyor. That's just standard.

Shit is great. Basically just make sure things are packaged in a way where it's slam on the gorund proof and it doesn't even matter. Most tech is filled with airbags and styrofoam so you can slam shit without having to worry.

Well anyone can be a drivers assistant it's a season job. They hire outside for that. Where I worked you had to work as a regular worker loading or unloading or something relating to the belt before you could even apply to become a worker. Thats were the real money is at. That's how they get you. Though to be honest it's easy as fuck to become a supervisor and get a salary all you have to do is literally ask and pass their exam. I saw a guy do it from day 1. He worked there for like 2 months. I was going to do it but I said fuck that this shit is dead as fuck and left.

>Don't get pissy to people who handle your boxes, blame the standards companies set that force you to be reckless to keep up with the pace they set.

Yea. It's a little crazy how they expect you to have good form so you don't hurt yourself physically but the only way to hit the speed/scans they want you to you have to do bullshit like jumping on the belt to fix jams or just tossing shit instead of properly setting up and moving your step ladder every time. I lost weight and my back was so strong when I left but my right knee was never the same and I only worked their for a few months. Only 15 minute break and then back to nonstop physical labour lel.

I thought it was funny how the safety guy told us about how all these people died. This one guy didn't follow the rules or something and a trucked backed up on him and he got crushed between the dock and the truck. This other guy was driving the little cars and wasn't paying attention and hit a low hanging metal beam or something and became paralyzed for life. They made him head safety guy tho after that and he gives speeches on why you should pay attention and not fuck around. This other guy had to get his stomach pumped when he mixed his bottle of coke with a bottle of oil or something since he used the same container. Just lots of people dying and getting hurt.
