who here plays swtor
is it a good game
I do.
No.
>>332348798
I play. It's not.
It's a goodsingle playergame.
Well at least sith warrior and imperial agent.
swtor is bad
play wildstar instead
>>332349965
Except they're literally letting it die.
>>332349965
Wildstar is also bad. Play nothing.
>>332350205
>>332350265
DELETE THIS
It's alright. Not great. It's definitely not grindy which is nice. The story is nice too. And it's a decent waifu creator. It's kinda buggy and f2p is lame.
I did.
It was okay but only for the class stories and the recent expansion literally made it Mass Effect: Star Wars edition.
Me.
It's nothing special.
>>332350793
>bioware writing
>>332351554
It's not even Bioware is it? It's just some studio in texas with the Bioware name. Not like Bioware has any talent left anymore.
>>332350793
Just seeing "organic" coming from any game with a Bioware brings a whole mess of bad memories back.
>>332348798
If you have the Star Wars Thrill in your little sack, play the Story Mode and be done with the Game.
If you want to enjoy the game without being a faggot play pvp, its enjoyable but its unbalance. But every MMO has balance issue with pvp so nothing new.
>>332351554
Sith Warrior and Imperial Agent have some sweet stories
Anyone have that webm of quality bioware animations?
Also, I played. It was ok, though nothing I'd recommend. I didn't play at release, so I wouldn't know about that.
>>332352005
wait what, this makes no sense, why would they be shilling by exposing the plotholes in the game
>>332351752
bioware austion is still bioware m8
>>332352162
true, but those are also the only two well written stories in the game
>>332352441
Every time.
What part of the game is this even from?
>>332352537
>austion
meant austin tbqh
It's great.
It caters heavily to solo players, other MMOs could learn from it. Fuck PvP and group content.
>>332352005
It's funny because it does make complete sense, the ending of ME3 is bad but not because of this, and it just shows how dumb /v/ really is.
>>332352590
bounty hunter on corellia I think
you're supposed to kill some lame ass Jedi
>>332352590
Near the end of the bounty hunter's story.
>>332352441
I still stand by that this is the most beautiful thing ever put to video games. It is a perfect storm of failure and incompetence lead by a vision that exceeds it's ability and too much money to make them dial back.
Is it wrong that I kind of love it for that? Can you love a game that's just badly made, but made by people who clearly wanted so badly for it to be good?
>>332352850
>>332352441

>>332352720
>makes complete sense
>when you can in fact prove the reapers wrong by creating peace between the geth and quarian
>>332348798
I played it longer than any other MMO I've tried.
>>332352840
Explain this to me nerds, if the force can do shit like this, why not just use it and nothing else? Whats the point of a primitive sword?
>>332348798
I do
It's an MMO that embraced the fact that it's not an MMO and is actually a single player RPG where you can play with other people.
It's actually kinda fun.
F2P model sucks but if you pay for one month and cancel you basically never have to give them money unless you're crazy over cosmetics.
>>332353221
they run out of mana mate
>>332353074
There is 0 reason to assume they will be at peace forever.
Specially from a timeless AI perspective.
Also the point is: Artificial intelligence will continuously be improved. Organic brains wont.
>>332352850
I went to the first guild summit and met most of the Dev team. During private discussions it became painfully obvious that the dev team was really pissed off about the current situation and had desperately wanted to make the game better before release (and even after). They made whispered complaints about management being the main obstacle to creating a great game. They were some very unhappy guys.
>>332353221
Maul's probably actively countering/blocking it during the saber fight or it'd be a futile gimmick until he gets tired or distracted.
>>332352537
Sure it's still Bioware like how Black Isle is still Black Isle even though there aren't any original devs there.
>>332353452
And then they still got those tatoos. I really do feel for them.
I'm going to continue to mock their game and laugh at their shitty designs, but it does come from a place of "Sweet christ may that never happen to me".
>>332353221
Force users have a force barrier they keep active that prevents them from getting rag dolled.
Basically once you've worn them out you can start fucking them up.
Basically the force is like the execute phase of the fight.
I bought it and played it with my brother and father when it came out. Didn't last very long, I quit when they reduced healing in PvP by a whole fucking 50%.
>>332353221
Force sensitives probably have to focus some attention into some Force resistance barrier if they're battling another Force user
After all, Vader didn't instantly choke Ben on their battle in the Death Star, hell he didn't even use force attacks on him.
I probably wouldn't play it if I didn't love The Old Republic era and Star Wars in general. It's mind-numbingly easy to play through solo, other than certain world bosses and stuff, and it's actually kind of a pain to party with friends.
There's a nice variety of stories, but not as much variety in playstyle as there appears to be. The imperial and republic classes are basically mirrors of each other with different tweaks here and there to look like different classes.
It does stick to the lore really well, so I mean if you like Star Wars it's a good game to kill time on.
>>332353221
:^)
>>332353306
>There is 0 reason to assume they will be at peace forever.
sure m8 let's just kill everyone now because of the chance that everyone will killed at a later time anyway
might as well just kill myself right now since I'll at some point anyway right?
10/10 reasoning
>>332348798
I used to play
It was fun, if you played Lightside Sith Juggernaut (Marauder was useless), Light leaning Imperial Agent, Dark leaning, but dad mode for Mako Bounty Hunter and Full on Darkside, everyone for Sith Sorcerer.
Those were the best ways to play, Lightside was about adhering to the laws and ensuring the might of the Empire, where as Darkside ensured your own personal gain.
Then Bioware fucked it up and alienated all the veterans, my guild lost half of its active members I stopped played months ago and feel no need to come back.
I like when they decided that balancing stats on gear was too hard so they consolidated all the stats like strength, cunning, etc into a single stat called 'mastery' that just means you are more powerful. Also when they had a hard time balancing the companions so they just decided that no matter what you equipped your companion with it would do the same damage.
So yeah, that sort of gives you an idea of what we're dealing with from a development standpoint: ham-handed clumsy fixes to balance problems. As an RPG it's pretty shallow, but as a fun actiony story-driven game it's enjoyable enough. It definitely feels starwarsy (a little too much at some points) with some interesting plots, force shenanigans, and superweapons. The voice acting is a nice touch too.
>>332352441
>watch some swtor vids
>strange urge to play an evil space wizard
>remember that it's a nubioware game
noped out and got kotor instead while both were on sale.
>>332349965
Wildstar is somehow even worse than KotORMORMOR. People shouldn't play either, but Wildstar is the bottom of the barrel.
>>332352441
>that chick just doing the ROTS spinning in the background
Every time
>>332354252
>Then Bioware fucked it up and alienated all the veterans
What did they do?
>>332352720
that's not the point of that image you imbecilic mongoloid.
the point is that ME1 presented reapers as a lovecraftian being that operated on a level above what humans could understand, which is a fascinating concept in itself (one of the main reason lovecrafts works became so popular over time), but they didn't follow through with it, force themselves to come up with a clear explanation.
and with that (predictably) they reduced that awesome potential to nothing but a mockery of itself. basically the reapers are really just relatively powerful huge spaceships following a very clearly defined and easy to understand purpose. nothing "mind boggling" about it.
>>332348798
>you're a sith lord
>your lightsaber does 58 damage instead of just cutting right through a sick lizard
>"The premier star wars fantasy of this generation"
No thanks.
>>332353982
Except they're not actually killing everyone.
This is, from their standpoint, similar to curbing a population of predators who are hunting out their prey.
And any chance after an infinite amount of time becomes a certainty.
>>332354596
>I wanted them to be super mysterious forever and never have any reason for doing anything!
Holy shit you somehow manage to come up with even lazier writing than bioware, congratulations faggot.
>lovecraftian
Fuck. Off.
You don't know what that means. They were never intended as lovecraftian.
>>332354856
It's nice to know they kept how stupid a whip as a lightsaber is.
>>332354479
Do you really, REALLY LOVE Roleplay and Housing?
Like, if you wanted to do one single thing for the next five months until they close the servers, would it be roleplay and build a house? Because that's what Wildstar is right now.
it's not a fun game but I have invested about 1100 USD into cartel stuff so I can never drop this game
>>332355028
I have basically everything i want and never spent a cent by virtue of having a security key since it went f2p.
How did you manage to spend that much?
>>332355028
>I have invested about 1100 USD into cartel stuff so I can never drop this game
>>332355005
I absolutely despite roleplaying in MMOs and don't give a shit about housing, so there's that.
>>332348798
Use to
Fuck no.
If you are really curious, recommend playing Sith Inquisitor, Imperial Agent, Bounty Hunter or Scoundrel. The rest aren't worth your time, only those four have a decent story line and fun combat.
I played it at launch for a month, it was absolutely shite.
I played it this January, for one month, because I was bored. It's still crap. There's no community, the servers are dead, the game runs like total shit because of the crappy engine, it's a single-player MMO, it's easy, repetitive in all the wrong ways, it has cookie-cutter talent builds, the PvP is bad... basically everything that was wrong with it at launch is twice as bad now
>>332355182
>SI
>BH
>smuggler
>good
>>332355114
Being extremely fickle being and having disposable income. I also sold a ton of shit to have infinite money basically, and like to give gifts to friends
>>332355484
Smuggler storyline has great companions and is genuinely funny most of the time.
>>332355513
Well ok then. Wish i was your friend.
>>332355484
Explain to me while those three are bad, and I'll tell you why you are wrong?
>inb4 complaining about the final act of BH.
The rest of it is solid, one bad act doesn't ruin the whole experience imo.
I'll resub once more of the expansion is released
Also wish the /vg/ guild wasn't ran by some autistic idiot in college.
Hurr we raid at 6PM on a friday night and we aren't allwoed to do raids any other time
Hurr why do you guys not have this raid perfect.
Also didn't help that there were MAYBE 15 unique people in the guild, rest being alts.
I'd probably raid if I could find a decent guild
>>332352441
>This entire game
Just look at this shit.

>>332355272
>them dooku moves
neat
>>332355805
Why does he put his arm behind him? Looks stupid as fuck
>>332355852
because he's a formal fencer
>>332355852
Makashi style is basically rapier fencer style
>>332355667
SI is fucking cartoon villain stupid with all the ghost busting and shit. Warrior does more inquisiting than the inquisitor. Smuggler is downright horrible shit story with shit characters. I may have been too fast with BH though. That one is actually decent.
Warrior is still better than any of those 3 put together and only IA comes close.
>>332356391
Sith Warrior is probably the most relevant story to the whole game.
Playing the KOTFE content as SW feels like this is what the expansion was written for.
>>332356391
there was only one bearable story.
although I did enjoy spamming the shit out of force lightning as inquisitor
>>332356494
KOTFE was obviously made with the warrior and knight in mind. Every other class feels out of place, especially the non-force sensitive ones.
>>332356706
Oh the non-force users is one of their most egregious sins in KOTFE
>>332356494
this
The whole wrath emperor relationship is an interesting one.
>>332356706
>>332356826
Yep especially how much unique dialogue there is with valk concerning the fact that you used to be the emperors wrath.
>>332355805

>>332357123
her character was 14 he was 9 in episode 1
so yeah he was basically into milfs.
Anakin was a man of taste
>>332356915
when will the kotfe be fully released?
I beat all the "content" in 3 days of casual play in november when it came out
>>332357094
>>332357254
Like early august or something
>>332356814
I actually am playing through KotFE with a Trooper and Im having a blast. Ya clearly the story is written for the Knight or Warrior but the fact that the trooper doesnt really have a chance and as such actually needs to debate using the Emperor's powers gives the story some fun edge.
>>332357254
Yeah KOTFE is designed to be a series of like 1 hour chapters, one released every 2 months I believe.
So I figure KOTFE will probably be around 20 chapters by the time it's done.
>>332357094
>>332357271

How am I supposed to not be rooting for those crazy fucks. And then jedi end up winning for the dumbest fucking reasons too.
>tfw you can play a cute scoundrel who wins fights by kicking guys in the nuts
Smuggler best class.
>tfw corrupting a jedi "master"
>>332357670
scrapper is one of my favorite specs in the fucking game.
Holy shit it's a fuckin blast. Just punching people, pistol whipping them and then plugging them at point blank.
>>332357735
If only Jaesa wasn't pure garbage when corrupted.
>>332356480
Is this from Rebels or Clone Wars?Is rebels any good? I've watched the first few episodes but that's about it
>>332357574
I'm kinda doing it weird with my LS SW
I agree and tend to do the things that the Valk agrees with, but I haven't taken any power. My SW is the type that wants to achieve power on his own, not borrow someone elses and be used like a puppet

clone wars

>>332357835
yes. way too edgy.
>>332357898
Haven't watched Rebels, but from what I've heard, CW is much better.
There is a possibility that Rebels might get better like CW did, but I'm not sure on that since Disney is in control right now.
>>332358115
>>332357778
Man, this makes like Anakin look like a hypocrite with Padme and Clovis
Regardless, Anakin beating the shit out of a man trying to kiss his wife was incredibly satisfying. The man was uncuckable.
