Jak 2 has parts that are stupidly hard because of bad game design, I feel that everything in dark souls is "fair" compared to them.

I beat Jak 2 a couple of years ago and yes, it was very hard. There are no checkpoint, a bunch of escort missions with stupid ai, a double jump that has a learning curve, missions that you will fail at until you memorize every aspect of them by retrying them countless times, and more.
Souls series is easy as fuck in comparison.

Everyone has beaten a difficult game when they were kids, it's easier to remember, just most forgot how long it actually took them and what struggles they went through.
There have been a shit ton of games where I was extremely confused with how I beat as a kid.
Try Jak 2 on Hero mode for a nice challenge.

I beat the vendrick last night by hitting left trigger + right bumper 6 times. Final boss, two buttons. The entire game is a gimmick fight.
Dark Souls shows you exactly what you need to do to win, older games like Jak don't do that.

Jak 2 is no harder to beat than any of the others, granted a couple of the missions are just badly designed but not "hard"
