Point and click adventure is one of the original genres, and things like Kings Quest are some of the all time favorite games of people who actually owned computers when they cost as much as a fucking Mazda and before the web was a thing.
Hell, for a while they practically defined computer games. They helped a fledgling game industry gain popularity.
You can hate tell-tale shit all you want, but you're either way too young or just way too ignorant of how video games have evolved to pass judgement on what is and isn't cancer
