That's such an incredibly contrived way of looking at it.
There are no real "werewolves and banshees" in Bloodborne, pretty much everything ties into the beast and kin shit in some way. It takes influence from classic horror but it always puts its own spin on them to fit its own lore.
For example: There are no real "werewolves" in Bloodborne, the game tries to misguide you a bit by making the first enemy you meet something that looks very much like a werewolf, but it isn't. It's just another mutation of the disease. Which results in all kinds of fucked up mutations, antlers, loose skin, what not.

It came from the discovery of the Old Blood deep within the labyrinths beneath Yharnam (aka chalice dungeons). The blood had immense healing properties so they started distributing it across the city as some miracle cure for all disease and physical trauma. Little did they know it would eventually turn people into beasts and madmen, and that's how Yharnam goes to shit. I can't recall the specifics of why the Great Ones arrived, I think there are many theories on this, all we know for certain is that it all traces back to Byrgenwerth and their obsession with the Great Ones. They saw them as the next step of evolution and literally wanted to become them.

It's "The sky and the cosmos are one." I don't really recall any references about the sea in this game. However one thing I think alludes to it is the ship masts in the nightmare plane. We know for certain that Nightmare Frontier and Mensis are in the same place and most likely the Hunter's Nightmare is too. Then there is the whole Fisherman's Hamlet with all the fish people and mother Kos that presumably died somewhere in the sea and washed up on the shores of that village.
