I was psyched for CS:S until I realized it was the same game I had played for years just on a more modern engine.
Same thing with GO. I bought it and I've spent maybe an hour tops playing it. Same whit I was playing back in 1999.

I spent the most amount of time with Source, so it's obviously going to be my favorite. Seems to be the only game with an active ZE server which is pretty fun.

Problem is goldsrc engine has been shit on with updates but it's also been worse for hit registration/bullet accuracy than the others. It's glitchy as fuck in a way you can't actually fix and no one gives a shit and there are worse gameplay elements to it.
Source is that hands down tightest version of the game. It's still a bad game regardless though but it's the best of a pile of shit.
GO is still going through it's transformative stages so you can't exactly pin it down but mostly it's not so good.
What if you take Counter-Strike's shooting and general gameplay mechanics and put it in an open world game?:^)

i think 1.6 was the best, mainly because of the maps. in later versions of the game, they tried to add too much and it made the game more and more annoying to play. in source they added props that got in the way/people got stuck on/abused to block pathways. in global offensive onassaultthey added skylights or whatever to the roof and people just spend most of the time trying to shoot each other through it.
i liked the simplicity of 1.6 maps and being able to shoot through walls more consistently.

AK - one shot to the head, plus USP backup for double tap.
Even with 64 players that's more than enough.
Though you can do yourself a favor and set the buy time to basically as long as the round.
I prefer just jumping on DM though since it gives you infinite ammo and bots to kill with almost no round restarts except when an entire team dies or a very long time passes. I go for breaking 100:10. The first 33 or so kills are usually with uneventful with 0-2 deaths, but the latter 66 ends up snagging me for whatever reason.
