I played the rerelease of OoT on the GameCube when I was around 10 or so. I loved the game then, and I love it now, especially the 3D remake. Perhaps 3D Zelda just isn't for you, OP, cause OoT really is the quintessential Zelda experience. Other games do certain things better, but when you get down to it, they're all building off of OoT.

It's also one of the better 3D Zelda games even today, since both TP and SS have a lot of problems that place them under the N64 games and WW for most people.
The people crying about the 3DS version being inferior are full of shit. You're trading off a small handful of scenes that uses darker lighting for more fiddling in the menu, some really terrible looking pre-rendered sections and the broken water temple. Neither version is perfect but anyone saying one is an inferior experience to the other is showing bias towards the one they played first.

It's not unreasonable that you didn't like it after playing the other 3D Zeldas since you're accustomed to the formula established by ALttP. I didn't play it when it came out either, but I can understand for the time it was a big leap for the series into 3D and the Zelda formula was still slightly new.
SNES and 64 Zelda games are timeless classics. I can keep going back to them and have fun.

OoT when it first came out had the biggest world a game ever had up to that point.
And the best graphics. It was considered the best for a lot of things.
And i think alttp is the best 2d zelda and la z2 z1 follow quickly after that then a little behind that is the oracles games.
After that though that is when you draw the line and start seeing that the next few games are shit.
