>delayed
>no word for ages
>HI GUYS LMAO WE'RE RELEASING THE GAME UNFINISHED!!!!
I hate this fucking industry
this was inevitable. the game was an absolute mess when they showed the beta and it was pretty evident they were going to miss their release window by at least a year.
what's worse is that you could see some of the devs streaming that pile of shit beta, completely clueless as to what people didn't like about it - i suppose it happens, falling in love with your own thing and w/e.
the best we can hope will happen is that they listen to people and include a sane coaster builder that can produce coasters that are sanely sized amongst other things.
the only other option was to terminate the project and atari's already sunk a bunch of money into this shitshow so that wasn't going to happen.
>>332197382
What was so bad about it?
>>332196906
It's hilarious. I gotta wonder what this man is thinking right now.
so this is going to be SimCity and Planet Coaster its Cities:Skylines
It's either this or PLANET COASTER
Come over to Planet Coaster, we have buildings
>Not even relased yet
>user scores ranging from a high 6 to a low 3
>>332199327
wait hold on does RCT:World NOT have buildings?
haven't followed the development of both games to much
planet coaster is made by the guys behind RCT:3 isn't it?
>>332199449
Yeah, Planet Coaster is by the RCT3 people
They're doing a pretty decent job. There's a download for the alpha build in the /vr/ct thread
>>332199574
don't mind that at all, I actually liked RCT:3 a lot
wondering does planet coaster have a fireworks system like RCT:3? synching coasters with fireworks displays was damn awesome in that
I'm assuming it won't have a pool system
>>332199449
RCT: World is basically
>We're going to release a barebones game and let the cumoonatee do our jobs for us - the game
It's pathetic. And after this announcement it's even more fucking barebones lol. I just cannot contain my keks
>>332199831
Not yet but they're looking to implement it I believe. Still getting the basics down.
>>332198763
Probably swimming in all that sell-out money
>>332197382
How exactly did they fuck up so bad that they had to go into paid beta (Greenlight)
>>332199574
Are fatalities back? All the people teleporting out of a derailed coaster was dumb as shit.
Will Planet Coaster blow this shitheap out of the water
>>332202176
I hope so. Something poorly made deserves to get shit on by something that actually looks like it has effort put into it.
I just want another good theme park building game. So very, very badly.
>>332202112
Not tried killing anyone but the peeps looking detailed makes me think they'll go with the RCT3 method again (ie. peeps don't die, they just flop about)
Here's a small bit I decorated using bits and pieces they give you. The alpha only has pirate stuff in, I hope they add a lot of variety in themes in the finished version.
>>332199574
Do you have a link? I looked though vg and I don't think I saw anything
>>332202516
The /vr/ is the clue:
>>>/vr/3090014
>>332202616
Wow I'm a moron, thanks anon
Have a bed of cats
>>332203034
Have a bed of toxoplasmosis, you mean
At least OpenRCT2 exists
>>332196906
I warned you people.
I fucking warned you people.
Poor RCT, back into the grave you go.
Who the fuck had hopes for this after they've shown the first video?
>>332204367
This will always be the best to me, it's much simpler looking and comfier.
>>332204673
Comfy is the correct word
>>332204630
There probably were some diehard fans that tried to hold onto hope that it wouldn't totally suck, but I find it hard to believe anyone still is as of right now.
>>332202490
does PC have waterslides?
pls I need this
>>332204367
I never adapted to the 90 degree camera angles, so annoying
>>332207225
Walking around as a guest is pretty surreal. There are decent amounts of detail.
Can I make Action Park?
Thread theme:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEKbFMvkLIc
what i didn't like about RCT3 is how little it actually focused on the park, i liked the park management part of RCT2 and 1, they kind of really toned it down with 3
does planet coaster fix that? RCTW doesn't look like it does at all
>>332207567
It's up to the community to fix lmao
>>332207179
Not yet, it's barely got coasters in it
>>332204367
I'm confused as to who is behind this project.
Is it the OpenTTD team?
In any case, I'm happy about it, I've been waiting for someone to reverse-engineer RCT for a LONG time.
>>332196906
would you rather have nothing?
>>332208116
Some OpenTTD people may have helped but this guy kickstarted it: http://dev.intelorca.co.uk/
Shit like this is why Atari will never be relevant again

>>332208754
>you'll never get into an accident at ACTION PARK
>>332208932
Why live?
Oh man I want a good tycoon game so much.
>SimCity2013 is latest entry in biggest city builder series out there after years of no entries
>is complete and utter ass
>Cities Skylines is game made by lesser known team
>is pretty good
>RCTW is latest entry in biggest theme park sim series out there after years of no entries
>looks like it's going to be complete ass
>Planet Coaster is made by lesser known teamyeah I know Frontier was part of PCT3 development, but more people know atari than frontier
>looks to be actually good
like fucking potterycan't justify putting out $75 for an alpha though
>Want to try Planet Coaster
>Think it's probably better to just wait for more
Either way the only retards thinking RCTW look better are in denial over as shit purchase. Like even the fucking ALPHA of PC looks better then RCTW.
Will Steven kill himself?
>>332198763
He doesn't care, literally.
He said that he leases the IP out to Atari and it's their job to make a competent game for the IP. As far as he cares the series was finished at RCT2.
>>332196906
To be fair, the game has been hopping around different studios, and the current one has only got experience in small mobile games so to take on a game like this is a massive challenge. I do wonder if they willingly took on the project or if Atari just dumped it on them.
>>332208372
This and no blood source port. Fuck 'em.
>>332209924
>can't justify putting out $75 for an alpha though
I can see why, a lot of early access shit is sold at retail and by the time the game is actually out and finished it's on steam sales for $5. Having high cost for alpha prevents this from happening.
>>332209924
>tfw you wanted SC2013 to be good so bad you ignored every single warning sign it was going to be shit and bought it anyway
