Play other games. Play a new one every day or two. Watch TV shows and movies you've missed. Start reading fiction.

You simply sit down, or stand, or lie, making sure that your back does not slouch. Then, you proceed to count 1-2-3-4, with each number accompanied with a deep inhale and exhale. So it would go; "Inhale-Exhale" 1, Inhale-exhale 2, etc (Hope I'm explaining this comprehensively enough) and each time you hit 4, you simply go back to 1, and so on.

Your meditation time can be as small as 10-20 minutes a day, until you feel prepared to increase the time spent in mediation (And you will, undoubtedly, increase it as your patience will improve, and the act of meditation will feel easier and more pleasurable, even)

The object of this "mindful meditation" as it is called, is not to block out thoughts, but to let them come and leave. Your mind will race between all sorts of thoughts and images, but you simply let them pass, not focusing on them, but on your breath.

You really should read up on it, however. I feel I don't do the explaining of the function all too well. But know this; Meditation is not only for the spiritually inclined. The act of meditation has been proven to have an effect on the brain, reforming it over time. Essentially, your frontal lobe will become "strengthened" while your fight or flight response will diminish greatly. This, in turn, makes you a lot less anxious, and more level headed.
