They themselves didn't do anything. The studio they paid to make the game completely hands-off failed horribly, so the Yogscast decided to just cut the game, hand over the assets to some other, more promising game I can't remember, and give everyone who backed their game a free copy of that one from their own pocket as well as a hand-written letter, I believe. I may hate their content but they actually weren't scumbags about it.
