Depends on the weapon and what ship you put it on. I wouldn't don't put any of them on ships smaller than cruisers, because of the flux issues as you've said. At least BRDY have Strike Suite so they get a 15% flux discount.

Seccae/Disruptor build up hard flux and do EMP, you can use it to overload ships at high flux, or a Paragon hiding behind fortress shields. The Accelerator will fuck up a capital ship royally if its shield is down, since it goes through hull dealing damage all the way. Juger Heavy Cannon is not so bad flux-wise, and shoots a lightning ball that emit arcs, hitting tons of fighters/missiles at once, making it not so bad to "miss". Then you have the missiles.

I don't want to say for sure until I've played to the end and abused the hell out of both faction's already OP ships, and then their stronger boss variants. Right now the strongest ship from KT for me is the Paladin, and the modded version from IBB is even more powerful and feels like a boss ship in itself. It doesn't help that with Extra Systems you can upgrade it further, and that it came with a 1.44(perfect) rating.

Have a carrier (any ship with a flight deck) and some fighter wings, generally 2-3 per flight deck is a good ratio. Bring both into battle and the carrier will rearm bomber wings and replace destroyed fighters until there are no more replacement chassis. The higher the CR of your fighter wings, the more chassis you'll have in the next battle.

I don't think the Karkinos would benefit too much from those, unless you want it to be long ranged support. I feel like its better off getting up close with its ship system and using something more aggressive and rapid-firing.

I haven't played with the capital ship too much, all I know is it has plenty of room for autocannons to make capital ships overload with their shields down.

Use trade restrictions, event and black market to your advantage.
From my limited experience, starting as a trader only works when you get like 20-30k early so you can get some escorts asap. Lone trader ship wont work for very long as you will get caught with your pants down sooner or later.
Starting as a bounty hunter with an extra ship and officer, hunting small fleets for bounties, then getting a destroyer and proceed to farm "sizeable" pirate fleets (easily done with one destroyer and a frigate) with bounties on their heads worked for me. And since you have a few ships together now you have some cargo space and can trade.

The standard loadout, works extremely well. Just make sure you have other ships with kinetic damage to overwhelm shields so the Lasher can unleash ridiculous amounts of damage at close range.

The thing is that the game for now has none of the characteristics that make Iron Man an interesting challenge:

Lack of battle outcome granularity: Most of the time you either win easily, or loose everything. And since your fleet represent almost all you got, loosing a single battle send you back to start. That also push you to never take any risks.

Lack of incentive to fight a loosing battle, and getting caught by a stronger fleet is most of the time a game over due to the difficulty to evade them. That will be partially solved by the industry update where you will have a base of operation worth keeping and defending.

And it's not a 30min-1h rogue-like session. Getting killed after 12h without any way to get back on your feet (because all bounties are then way above your league, or hostile factions) is not my definition of fun. Again the Industry might solve that with the ability to build replacement ships.

Can I get some more criticism on my shitty fighter's art? I'm having a lot of trouble with detailing and especially outlines. I think it looks fine when I zoom out but when I look at the vanilla fighter it seems so lackluster and shit in comparison.
I just wanted to make custom fighters squadrons and now I'm stuck agonizing over the art.

On a separate note, I've detailed fighters to escort my capital destroyer and that problem I had being raped by fighters is solving itself nicely.

It's not an ability, basically the way fighters work in this game is that every fighter 'unit' has a bunch of spare wings prepared before a fight, and can keep deploying new wings until it is exhausted. A standard wing will usually have 2-6 fighters per wing and then anywhere from 4-20 replacement chassis. A carrier will automatically redeploy and re-arm fighters that get blown up and bombers that have launched all their rockets/torpedos/bombs.

Why are you trying to convince a full vanilla fighter fleet is viable? It's very common knowledge that they just simply don't stand up against regular ships. That's why Diable has their fighters with frigate tier stats.

FYI one of the capital ships-the odyssey- has a flight deck while being a battlecruiser. In this game, carrier capabilities are determined by the number of 'flight decks' you have. Destroyer size-carriers have 1. Cruiser size has 2. The astral, the one you see in the picture, has SIX.
Each flight deck can idealy keep up with the refit and repair of 2~4 fighter wings.
This means that the astral can deploy 12~24 figjter wings on it's own, depending on the fighter's survivability and weapon type.

Java's garbage collector only trigger when it reaches the memory allocation. Give the game 128GB and it will use 128GB after enough time.
Might even crash your game. 4-5GB is enough in pretty much every modded game.

Subed to 1400+ mods/assets in the Steam workshop for Cities Skylines and I guess their game or the Unity engine loads every fucking thing into ram when you load up a city. I hear the same thing happens with KSP+mods. So it's probably a Unity engine issue.

Already got that going. RAM usage doesn't spike when saving but the program does hang for half a minute while it does.
