the existance of sentries makes it quite hard to design a good TF2 map.

take two fort for example. people love it and always want to change the map to that shit although it has a horrible design flaw.
you can build a single sentry right next to your spawn and cover every single entrance and exit from the flag room.
even if your opponents destroy it while entering you can just rebuild before they get back out.
so fucking easy to defend, it's disgusting.

all maps are bad in insurgency.
In the mod they used to place objectives around the map so entire map was used in a creative and intuitive way to make it seem 6x larger than it was.
Now in new one they just went "fuck it let's just reskin weapons for either faction and have 4 linear points n the maps and gimme da money"

Not saying insurgency is bad, but it could be a lot better.

There's only two entrances to the intel in 2fort.

A sentry in front of spawn covers both of them.

A direct hit soldier can also just shoot the sentry and duck under the walkway before it shoots him.

Either way it's an annoying sentry spot that can be hard to deal with if your team composition is shit.
