If you're playing on hard mode, get health upgrades instead of shield (shield sucks), and look out for the Last Man Standing perk. Blood To Salt and Winter Shield are good too.
Carbine and Sniper are the best weapons and will handle everything. Fully upgrade Possession ASAP, and use it on everything. Use Murder of Crows traps on Handymen for best results.
