stay madvideo games
>not immersing yourself in the lore while playing
I read porn mags for the stories
at least i can afford a car with a roof lol

That depends on the game .
I play games like Metal Gear : Nanomachine blood-relations for the gameplay , not the story.
But I also like games like The wolf among us because of the comfy story-driven narrative.
Different types of games , different entertainment value.
If you spend all your time trying to process frame data and combos, I can't imagine how fighting games will maintain their value to anyone.
At least learn about your character.

this is a toddler defense statement
like the people who play pokemon, when you bash how shitty B/W's story was, they say
>playing pokemon for the story
Look at Fallout 4. It didnt win a fucking thing this year because the story was so awful.
No story = no motivation to play the game
When you get older, playing games for the story is about the only fulfilling thing you get from them anymore.
Any time I dump hours into some shitshow of a game that is purely about mechanics, I come away feeling like I've wasted my time. When I play a game where I enjoyed the story, or the setting, or the characters, it's the complete opposite. I felt like I got to experience another world and my enjoyment of it wasn't contingent upon hours of frustrating grinding or a ridiculously steep learning curve.
I play games for lots of things.
