ITT: series that deserve another game but will never get one
>>
>>332154660
I liked the concept, but both games are just the most boring, vanilla shooters imaginable.

Can do without a sequel.
>>
>>332154660

>Release the most mechanically broken third person shooters of an entire generation, twice

>deserving of a sequel

Fuck off, the series was thematically awesome but the devs proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that they couldn't make a game for shit.
>>
>>332154660
You might be delighted during E3 this year.
>>
>>332154660
This game would be fine as hell with some PW/GTAV/MGSV/AC concepts such as recruiting and merc missions. Basically a criminal empire sim. But that's probably out of the scope of the original vision.
>>
>>332154763
>>332154836
I know it gets tons of hate and honestly the game does have some major bugs but the shooting is average and the idea behind the story is amazing. The game lacks emphasis on the story and tries to make up for it with constant uneeded repeated dialogue. This is understandable for a 5 hour game (both 1 and 2) but I feel if the devs made their next game longer it could really be something special.
>>
>>332154836
>mechanically broken
Why do people say this? Was the 360 version fucked up or something? I have it for ps3 and the mechanics are fine.
>>
>>332155403
It's almost unplayable on PC without going out of your way to disable some system settings. Look it up. Same happened with the PC port of both prototypes
>>
It deserves a sequel.

The multiplayer for the first Kane and Lynch was so good and such a refreshing concept, that it almost blows my mind that someone hasnt replicted it.

The story to the first one was rad as fuck. I played it as Kane all the way through then made my brother play with me and I was Lynch, it was really cool how in his perspective the civilians were dressed as cops and the cops were actual pigs in uniform when he's freaking out. Dog Days was pretty disappointing.

Its called dog days pic related.
The first half of the game is what the game industry strives today and thats called cinematic experience.
The only game that ever did it right and should be parsed sole on this fact since is fun as fuck.

My vote for sequel is Binary Domain.
Fuck you Sega, you should grow a pair of balls and make another.

K&L was mediocre as fuck, and with the release of the second game the devs outright said that they had learned their lessons from the first one.

I'm on my phone but trust me, according to steam I put 2 hours into a full price game because I made the mistake of believing dev bullshit.

I don't give a fuck about arty themes if I paid 60 bucks for a game that took me two hours to complete.
And as for your difficulty comment, I'm fairly sure I played it on normal, and besides advocating difficulty as a way to artificially extend the length of a game that only has 2 hours of content, hell let's say 4 hours, is complete bullshit.

Kane & Lynch is an amazing series. The gameplay was decent enough, but it's the story that made the game. It's the most adult, the most mature game I've played. I played it with my brother in co-op and it was an incredible experience. Can't recommend this series enough.

Just don't try to force yourself to do stealth - the combat/stealth sections are pretty much pointless filler, aside from finding all the intel (which isn't hard since the levels are small and linear as fuck) and some specific missions where doing certain things can have an effect on the rest of the game.

It's really all about the conversations.

Kane & Lynch 2 was the shit, I don't care what anyone says. The only problem I had with the game is that you can get hit even if you're behind cover, but even that can keep you on your toes. Beyond that it was a solid 7.5/10 game

Yeah, pretty difficult but not overtly so, it followed the good example of everyone taking more damage, and enemies not becoming just bullet sponges. Only problem is that the guns' accuracy made hitting anything from a distance of 5 or more meters fucking impossible.
It was a good challenge.

They were clearly setting this up for another sequel but I doubt it will see the light of day now, the devs went out of business. Capcom will probably reboot it again.

It's a shame because although LP3 was not entirely successful, I have a soft spot for it. The characters and writing had a real charm.
It was quite a brave attempt to take a mediocre IP that nobody really gave much of a shit about and turn it into something different. They almost threw the baby out with the bathwater at times but I think they were going in the right direction.

Graphically it was quite beautiful at times, even if the world was rather corridor-like and spoiled by loading screens.

I liked the idea of you just having one rig through the whole game, and buying upgrades and stuff, but I felt the rig gameplay was the weakest part of the game, due to slow clumsy movement, crappy QTEs and finding it very difficult to see what was going on.

With a bigger budget and a longer development time a sequel could be awesome.

well the shooting in KL2 was serviceable and barebones of what you would expect from even today's big budget shooter - no one ever did or would argue about that ever.
But I'm a sucker for strong art direction or story-driven titles, so for such occasions I would forgive the blandness of the gameplay.

I find the first/third person games can work not only as a nice challenge for a seasoned player, but also win the hearts of audience through exploration of their in-game worlds.

First game was pretty shitty all around.

Second game was mechanically better, if more standard, but one of the few games that felt they delivered on the "visceral experience" promise. Loved the low-fi aesthetic, made it look like a snuff film.
