I also got my macbook as a gift from my dad before going off to college. Couldn't just say "WOW DAD A FUCKING MAC, THANKS YOU BIG FAGGOT" because he spent good money on me with good intentions in mind.
It sucks so many programs dont run on mac but it's good practice to be appreciative.
