The Nvidia kikery was off the hook in this game.

I thought it was a great game.

Yes, ending is some tomfuckery thanks to ea, but it is still very much worth a playthrough.

And I honesty tried playing the first after the second, and could'nt get into it at all. Platforming felt too clunky.
>>
this game was fucking cool. I don't see you how you can detract so many points from it just because the gameplay wasn't super innovative or some shit

Decent enough and still looks nice, It just suffers from many stages overstaying their welcome that can make most of the first half unbearable when it seems to never end.

Don't worry if you haven't played the first game, its not required, and like all Quake 3 engine games it has aged terribly.
>>
We don't get colorful and imaginative 3D platformers too often, especially ones that have half decent gameplay mechanics. That said, there wasn't even much wrong with this game. It's not the best game ever but it was quite good

>Be physical fag
>PC physical release ruined by DRM - One time CD activation bullshit
>Console release down right inferior with no phsyix.
>'GOTY' version is digital only and held hostage by an Origin only release.

That feel when you want to buy, but pirating it is your best option.
>>
>>332129183
why would you play this when Bayonetta exists. objectively superior platforming and combat.

The environments are really good, especially once you reach the second half.
Hated the Hatter/Hare/Mouse section

>>332132493
but music and atmosphere... MUSIC in first was just awesome.

Bayonetta is more combat and less platforming. This is more platforming and less combat. They really feel like different genres, the only thing they share is a female protag
>>
>>332132846
Never installed origin, I have the version on Steam and played to completion.
Was there some new version I missed?
>>
>>332132846
So buy then use the pirate crack. Problem solved
>>
>>332133132
Yeah man, they released it again with all the DLC bundled in as well as Alice 1. Steam didnt get it
>>
>>332132860

Maybe he already played that, retard.

Unless you're going to make a serious attempt to defend your position that only one game should exist in each genre, fuck off.
>>
What ?

I loved it. So much more enjoyable than the first. The Nvidia bullshit I the only thing I hated about the game.

> no Nvidia card or on consoles? Haha haha enjoy your gimped physics.
>>
>>332133272
>with all the DLC bundled
wow it's fucking nothing

AMD user here, whatever I missed it didn't impact the game to any noticeable degree.
Plenty of noticeable use of hair animation, I'm guessing this is some nvidia exclusive physx/hair physics nonsense again?
>>
>>332129183
>implying

EA was actually kind enough to fund the game even though it was practically niche as fuck. I hate them as much as the other guy but they took one for the team on this one.
>>
Would having a more modern AMD card be to 'brute force' the physix into working?
>>
>>332133861
No, the hair works (heh) on every GPU. The physx used was for particle and water only.
>>
>>332133861
Yep. Again it doesn't ruin the game not to have it, but there was some very nice parts of the games style cut by the exclusive phsyx shit.
>>
>>332132846
There's a GOTY version of this? Does it add anything else to it?
>>
>>332134193
You get some alternate costumes (unlockable in seam version with a 2second .ini file change) and a copy of the original game

Is the first Alice game currently available anywhere? Like, can I download it? I mean, I actually prefer a physical copy, but like most old games that are popular and/or cult classics, American McGee's Alice has some fucked up Amazon prices. I guess these are for sealed copies (which would explain why they're not being counted as "used" or whatever). And I'm not trying to buy it for collector's purposes, so it's not like there's any value in the thing still being shrink-wrapped. But I don't really want to buy some dude's scratched-up copy either.

I never thought I'd say anything good about the gaming industry's shift to downloaded content, but fuck paying out the ass for deteriorated old shit because it's rare.

Someone's just going to say "pirate it" and I guess that's a potential solution as well.
>>
>>332134309
Pirate, pay out the ass for physical or buy the GOTY version of madness returns are your options
>>
>>332134309
You can buy 'em on Origin if you want.
>>
>>332134193
Alice 1 would be the only thing worth it. The DLC looks kinda cool, but the costumes come with cheats attached. Does anyone know if you can disable the cheat effects?

>>332134309
I guess the origin complete version comes with Alice 1. Also its $25 on ebay used for a small boxed version. Never go by those new prices on amazon. You have to check the used ones.
>>
>>332134309
Nothing wrong with buying a used PC game if its single player only. I bought a used Oni Big box for $5 at a flea market. Got home and its worth $40 on ebay.
>>
>>332134458

So it is still officially for sale. I do have an Origin account, which I only created to dump my Humble Bundle copy of Dead Space 3. So I could do that. I don't really want to directly support EA, though.
>>
>>332134690
Pirate it if you really want. You also get ALL the DLC that way too.
>>
I wanna marry alice
>>
>>332134309
The origin version of alice 2 comes with 1. You can also get it working on steam with alice 2 by downloading the a version of the first game and changing an .ini file to active the special edition
>>
Alicefags are the worst.
>>
anyone want to link that sfm of Alice blowjob with cum in mouth and her legs wrapped around the guy?

Top tier

Really? All I'm seeing on Origin is the "Standard Edition" of Alice: Madness Returns. There's no mention of a special edition or a collection or a bundle or anything including the first game.

>>

really? i just read bout its existence yesterday. What went wrong?
>>
>>332129183
I played this game high 100% of the time

I remember starting it and 3 hours went by and I wasn't sure how I got to the steam punk mad hatter train, because I had been tripping out so hard the whole time.

It was pretty sweet, EA didn't ruin it, it didn't reach the levels of the first game but it was fun and it's nice to have something that I aesthetically like for a change
>>
>>332129183
as a game, it was shitty.
the hair physics and graphics were pretty good.
Everything else was awful
>>
I paid 5 bucks for this game 6 years ago and still haven't even installed it yet.
>>
>>332135753
I got the ultimate edition of new Alice on pstriple which comes with the first game. Runs fucking terribly though, and crashed the whole damn console.
