To be fair, I enjoyed Calamity Trigger, it was a fine "since we can't have another guilty gear might as well play this one" game. Then the true ending happened and all this world-building they did in the first game made me hyped as fuck for CS
Then CS happened...it was fucking horrible
Then they took the Guilty Gear XX route and spawned other 2 version of the same fucking game
And then the light novels, spin offs and Chrono Phantasma and Central Fiction's acts and all that shit, I just gave up

It's certainly the first series of fighting games that I've played where I had no fucking idea at all what was going on in the story portions.

CP was the only thing that was confusing to me because the story wasn't even in chronological order because of the different paths crap except when the paths converge into one path in which things started to make sense at least in that route you didn't have to jump in-between pieces on trying to grasp what parts happen first and what didn't because of time-loops resets going on. If they kept it so that all the paths started at the same time yet intercept at once when common events happen between each of the routes then it wouldn't be so confusing. On it's own the story is a mess but it was put together more properly I sure people wouldn't had been complaining so much about CP did to the story. Celica was explain just enough for us to know how she is relevant to being present to the story but they way she was handled felt forced though.
CF seems to be also heading down the same route of adding a LN character with Naoto addition which we may also enough background info on him when the console verision comes out. Yet I don't feel he is that force into the story like Celica. I just hope unlike CP Mori gets his stuff together of making the story mode more organized again.
In a nutshell:

Personally I love the story, I am weak against anything that involves time travel.
