Why is there so much misconception about sega Saturn emulation?

Why is there so much misconception about sega Saturn emulation? SSF can literally play everything on /v/ recommended sega Saturn games.
>>
Nights runs at like 8 FPS and Radiant silvergun was practically a slideshow when I played it
>>
>>332107107
More than having a misconception it's that only a few people care about it
>>
It was like this ten years ago, I really have no idea.
>>
Does it run Radiant Silvergun with no problems whatsoever without needing a super computer?

>actually wanting to emulate the Saturn
>>
>load up game
>black lines across the screen
>scanlines are already off
>turn off many settings
>still there
>cant get rid of them

its shit. Shame it cant go open source due to the fact it contains actual sega shit in it.

>but it can play everything in this list

n64 emulation runs some games fine, doesnt mean as a whole its good
>>
For the love of god someone tell me what Sega Saturn game this is because I know I'm not imagining it.

Once upon a time I remember seeing footage of a Sega Saturn game where you were a mech swimming around in a human body, I remember the mech was like red or something, and I know there was a map or something in the corner that showed a polygonal layout of valves and shit all around you.

I remember I saw a video of it years ago, but could never find it, and I would like to because I'm fascinated by games with that concept.
>>
I have literally never heard any misconceptions about saturn emulation, I can only asssume this is a lazy bait to get people to respond

Google it.
>>

Nights has plenty of ports though.

>>
>>332107107
>Why is there so much misconception about sega Saturn emulation?

Because today emulation means playing old vidya on your phone, or using the latest hipster meme crt filter frontend.

No emulator for android means that the console is emulated like SHIT, even though SSF could max out Radiant Silvergun, Nights, Fighters Megamix and Panzer Dragoon Saga back in 2006.
>>
People hate SSF because it's closed source, only works with either burnt discs or daemontools, rarely gets updated, and doesn't like quad core systems or Nvidya GPU's. Yabause, when it gets better compatibility, will be the GOAT Saturn emulator.
>>
SSF is better with perfect emulation accuracy but it fails in its ability to expand resolution so games look like shit

I rather use yabuse

On top of Panzer Dragoon (3 games on the console), it also had all the best ports of almost every relevant fighting game and shmup between 1994-1998.
>>
>>332110913
>You have to be stupid to hate an emulator for that, especially once you looked into the clusterfuck that is supporting cd images (there are a billion formats out there, even bin/cue has 1001 things to support).

The SSF dev should've gone with libre mounting software instead of chinese spyware.
>>
>misconception
I imagine you're the same kind of person who says "SNES emulation on the PSP is perfect" or "N64 emulators play literally all the games".

The problem with SSF is that, while it starts and plays at least 95% of the games in the system's library, it has a ton of crashes in a ton of games. I tried playing through the 3 episodes of Gundam Side Story, and had to close and re-open the emulator at least 10 times because either the controls gave up or just a black screen of death. And that wasn't just on my computer, but on 3 different computers.
Or the random freezes on Castlevania, Nights and Radiant Silvergun.
>>
>>332111140
Why can't you just install one libre mounting software instead?
>>
>>332111136
All of which you can just emulate in MAME for better results, or experience better re-releases instead.
>>

Which shadows are missing in PD Saga?

Also remember that you can change the compatibility settings in SSF to make games run more accurately (but require stronger cpus - it mattered 10 years ago when it came out).

There's no way Saturn emulation could possibly be good. We understand so little about the Saturn, that we can't even fan translate games because we have no method of patching the text into them.

How can you possibly expect to emulate something you can't even do minor edits to?

When the fuck are we getting english patched versions of Policenaunts and Sakura Taisen?
>>
>>332111706
Last I checked there is a huge rotation glitch in Georgius floor texture.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBXfWN-Qaow

Look at Edge's shadow as he walks on the ground. It's not a pixel mesh like in SSF, it's a transparency/shadow effect.

SSF is japware, and it's really ankward to use.

Yeah, I just got a Saturn and modded it few years back, this was when Saturn emulators couldn't even run the sound properly. Not too much effort to just burn some CD-Rs for the games I like, and the controller is one of my favorites.(although I'm pretty sure adapters for it exist to use them on PC)

At least it's not like N64 where the most developed emulator had fucking adware on it.(not sure if the newest version still does)

Sega Saturn emulation being terrible is a meme. It's inferior PS1 emulation, but it's better then N64 easily.
