Did you like awakening? Because like 90% maps are open as hell and you can pretty much bumrush killing everyone in your path to win. I didnt even use the OP rogue units too to attest how easy it is. I still had a good 49 hours in it, if you want another srpg to fill that itch its a solid 6-7/10.

I'd argue that grinding actually makes the game harder since experience scales and recovering HP/SP mid battle through leveling is very important.
The game is ultra-basic in terms of play. The plot drags on for long stretches between doing anything interesting. The dub is absolutely amazing. Maybe at a deep discount it would be worth picking up.

The biggest annoyance with picking endings is the fucking unskippable credits between beating the final boss and viewing the ending.

Veronica became a completely different character in the dub. Her original voice is playful and exaggerated, while her dub voice is just serious and monotonous. Sakuya's dub VA makes a poor attempt at imitating her original voice and just manages to come off sounding like a hoarse smoker. I can't imagine liking Sakuya at all if I'd used the dub.

One of the best parts of this game is the stellar voice cast and the dub just throws that out the window.

Not him, but the big thing about Stella Glow and FE If/Fates in the Japanese advertisements was their voice acting and high quality casts. The dub on both fuck that up royally, since no one is going to match the quality of people like Sawashiro.
Is Ewan as useless as everyone makes out? Ive been using him since I got him and he seems pretty great his speed is shit but I gave him Nonoka`s panties for that and he hits pretty hard and seems to crit on a regular basis.
I played with an undub version because the huge disconnect of everyone talking English to suddenly singing in Japanese was way too weird.

Gameplay is really wonky compared to FEif though
- Interface is slow. Enemy actions are unnecessarily long (camera pans slowly to them, then they slowly move to their destination tile, bunch of delays before and in between these). Even with attack animations off it still takes forever for fights to be "over" (the victim takes damage, numbers pop up, etc.)
- Enemies hit like love taps
- Maps are simple, around Disgaea/Awakening level
What it did right was spending a lot more time fleshing out characters and doesn't have gay shit like Support system that actively fucks with your strategy (because everyone wants to put units next to each other 24/7, right), or cancerous customization shit like 2nd gens and online features.

FE fates is bigger but I had much more enjoyment out of this game than it to be perfectly honest.
the cast was cohesive and the special weapons and different attacks exclusive to each character makes the cast tighter and much more likeable and memorable.
And then there's the complete voice acting.

Honestly the only thing I'd give Fates over Stella Glow is that Fates doesn't have the beginning drag on and on and it's significantly more difficult. Stella Glow wound up being my favorite game of 2015.

I was playing it, almost at the end until I lost many hours worth of progress and I haven't picked it up since.
I've so many fucking games to catch up on.

No, it was my actual last free time before going up the tree and I was on Sakuya's last tuning. The game said that NONE of my units could kill the enemies on the mission except for the shadow Sakuya. This really messed me up and I lost, so I reset because I really wasted to max Sakuya before endgame but I last saved hours ago. I later found out on here that it's a mistranslation and that ONLY ALTO isn't allowed to kill enemies on that mission. I haven't played the game probably since November.

Cyber Sleuth is grindy and tedious and doesn't really have anything going for it outside of Digimon fanservice. Bravely Second has been butchered in the localisation.
