DC has better storytelling. Marvel has more likeable characters.
DC's shit like Sandman, Watchmen, Dark Knight Returns, and Kingdom Come are masterpieces in the genre that rivals traditional literature, but their characters are boring as fuck (except Batman and his rogues gallery). On the contrary, Marvel has almost no genre-defining story arcs, but all the characters are iconic and charismatic as fuck.
