It looks like DS3 is worth picking up. It has what you would want from a Souls game. It'll take some months before people can really nail down how good it is or if theres something that fucks up the longevity of PvP or how replayable it is or whatever. But by most accounts it's a fun 27-40 hour Souls game that hits most of the checkboxes of what you want from Souls, so you can't really go wrong if you like the series.

just clearedpontiffandmarriedanriinanor londo, and so far i'm pretty disappointed; weapon arts are kind of a pale imitation of tricking weapons, the sorceries i've been using have been doing pathetic damage (besides great/great heavy SA) even with plenty of INT and a +6 heretic's staff, and most of the greatswords/straight swords/polearms have had the same moveset; there are some neat armors (fallen knight, abyss watcher), but this is the same, slow, turtley game i've played twice before (with a few exceptions; i liked the irithyll beasts, and the pontiff was an interesting fight, albeit kind of a boring fume knight)
bloodborne's absolutely my shit; i love the fast, frantic fights, and the huge movesets on each weapon, and so far ds3 has failed to deliver. framerate's also just unacceptably bad (although apparently that's a bug?), and the bosses have been really easy; on eng xbone, so i know they have nerfed hp/deal nerfed damage, but even with damage/hp buffs, they've been kind of slow and plodding for the most part (second half of abyss watchers, gundyr, and pontiff have been decent fights)
