Are you guys fucking kidding me??
>"$60-80 game is too expensive, have to pirate, fuck this industry"
Here in fucking Sheepland, we gotta pay $120 preorder for anything. Even converting the currency's dont equal 120 fucking dollars. Thats half my god damn rent for a week.
and you guys are the "poor, getting buttfucked by the industry" ones.

Here in Canaland, you can't afford a shit shack of an apartment unless you make 100 grand a year. Almost everyone I know still lives with their parents, and were all in our thirties.
I haven't been to the dentist in a decade because it's too expensive
I can't afford a car
Liquor is ten times the price as it is in the states
And weed isn't even legal. It will never be. The morons who voted for that fuck up were voting just for that. Stupid fucks.

Always feel bad for you guys. Australia always gets pretty bad prices but nothing on that level. That said though EB always sell at RRP so other places should (might) have it much cheaper. I remember the MGSV special edition being $248 down here, while the game by itself

Edmonton

It's not as good as it used to be here. Ever since the retarded immigrants from nova scotia and ontario voted in an NDP gov't.
>>
>>332034881
I had no idea Edmonton was as bad as Vancouver. Well, not BAD--just expensive as all get out.

It looks like it's time to either abandon North America, or the planet. I'll save you a spot on Mars, anon.
>>
>>332035298
It's the entirety of Canada. People keep saying their rents are like $800 and I'm looking at places that go for $1k+. I'm in the GTA.

I was browsing the PSN store with my Dad today and I took a double take at NMSs price. It's fucking absurd.
>>
>>332035298
It's awful man.
Maybe I'll move to a small town like Edson. I can't take this shit anymore, plus our internet is a joke.
1MB/s is the maximum download time. Plus I have to put youtube vids to 480 p because my shiternet can't handle 720 or 1080.

I live fine on a 96k a year salary in Calgary. I don't think you need to make 6 figures in live in Western Canada.

Toronto or other Ontario college cities maybe, where housing prices are fucking through the roof. But not Alberta. Most ~2400 square feet houses in a good suburb are still under a million.
>>

Videogames cost 80-100 dollars here in Russia. Most people I know make 500-700. That's not even counting the amount of bullshit taxes we have to
pay.
>>
>>332036228
They may give you their house
At least that's what Im hoping for from my mom, but I'll probably die before her because I'm an alcoholic addicted to salty food
>>
>>332036160

It's not bad if you budget properly. Also you qualify for a number of subsidies if you want to learn a trade.

Also no income taxes. You should be getting most of your tax money back, along with GST cheques.

>>332036228

We still live in a fairly socialist country. Also while white collar jobs have been in the decline, part-time and retail jobs are actually on a rise in most provinces. Start there.

Most of your salary goes to the gov't. I'm sick of this "free healthcare" meme. Also we sit in the waiting room for 15 hours just to get stiches. We die waiting for a heart operation, we die in the waiting room bleeding to death, and we still don't have dental care. I haven't been to the dentist in ten years because it's so expensive, yet I pay out the ass for taxes for our "free healthcare"

>>
>>332037258
When our dollar was higher than yours, we were still paying the same price, but of course, once it goes lower we pay more.
Also I remember getting sega games for 80 bucks, when our dollar was the same.
>>
>>332037021

Well, no one really depends on Blue Cross or no coverage at all. I don't think you really pay as much as you say you do. Because you'd have to have a high-paying job, which almost always comes with a private company healthcare provider. Even if you work as a contractor, you can still afford private contractor plans with HMOs like Sunlife.

You mostly just sound like a jobless bum to me, ranting on like that.

>I haven't been to the dentist in ten years because it's so expensive

Dental's not covered because cleaning counts as a cosmetic procedure. If you need dental surgery or dentures and can't afford it there are grants and government coverage for that.
>>
>>332037503
I work, and haven't had blue cross since I was 20.
I probably have ten cavities by now.
>>
>>332037759

That's entirely on you.

Cavities are entirely preventable. And every single hygienist and dentist literally tells you to floss and rise daily, and to brush your teeth twice a day at least. Which is why cleaning and fluoride treatments are considered cosmetic procedures.

>I work

No offense, but probably nowhere that matters. Even all University and Trade school students get dental coverage from their government funded student plan. So I'm guessing you never attended post-secondary.

Go learn a trade. It's still very lucrative, and there are tons of grants you can take advantage of.

I graduated in 2008 when every job required 2 to five years experience.

Fucking Nintendo.
>>
>>332031009
just pirate the damn thing before you buy it to see if it's even worth it
>>
>>332038485

You clearly didn't do your research when picking a program.

Friends of mine from highschool went to SAIT, which is essentially the sister school to NAIT up in Edmonton. One did pipeline drafting, another did blood analyst, and another one is a heavy machinery mechanic. They all have jobs, because they did their fucking research into hiring prospects. The heavy machinery mechanic works for CNRL up in Fort Mac, and he makes more than me as a chemical engineer.

Whereas it looks like you just fucking randomly picked an IT-sounding program and rolled with it without realizing that anyone who wants to make any kind of money in that field needs to go into server security and risk management from a University, or have some kind of seniority.

You just fucked up. Stop blaming the government like a mongoloid. I'm from Edmonton too, grew up in Riverbend and went to Harry Ainlay. Wastes of lives like you make me sick.
>>

>>

>There you go, you rich spoiled shit.

Rich my ass. That's why I attended public schools and paid my own way through University. Get fucked, Riverbend was and to some extent still is a ~70k/year neighborhood. The Estates areas where the rich people live were only built around 2006 during the oil rush.

>>332040119

No. I played soccer and kickball. In the summer my friends and I rode bikes and hung out at the Petro Canada, or the Public Library cause they had Asterix comics.
>>
>>332040463
I hate you but I used to go to the Millwoods library and rented Asterix and Tin Tin comics every week
I loved those comics
>>
>>332032442
You make like 2-3 times the minimum wage of USA and that's just minimum wage.
Also if you have a respectable job there would be more. I don't see any problem.
>>
>>332040734

I loved Tin Tin. I even read Tin Tin in French in junior high school, even though I didn't like French class at all.

See? We did the same things. You somehow perceive me to somehow be rich, even though I grew up middle-class at best. Socio-economic status has nothing to do with where we end up as adults. The best my parents provided for me after 18 was a place to live and a meal a day.
