It's SL matchmaking. I don't know about the weapon upgrade system, but since it takes so long to go from +3 to +4 and +6 to +7, it likely won't be a big deal.
Anyone in Ember form can be invaded. You don't have to use dried finger to be invaded solo.
Using dried finger also allows for four enemy players in your world.

Stance can be anything from upwards stabs to long range lunges to parries to horizontal sweeps, etc

Some have special attacks such asflame mortars, wrath of the gods, dragon weapon shockwaves, etc
