What is your opinion on Rogue-lite genere?
An entire genre of shit that people play not because it's good but because it's compulsive

It's become the primary overabundant indie game but I don't think there's anything wrong with the genre itself. Just the fact that it's popular enough that a lot of the untalented or uncreative people immediately wanna make them.
What counts as Rogue-lite?
>>331969630
The binding of isaac, nuclear throne, spelunky, rogue legacy, downwell, etc
>>331969751
I kind of meant more along the lines of what makes a Rogue-lite what it is instead of a Rogue-like.
>>331969859
Character building and gearing, top down, grid based movement, turn based, procedural death labyrinth
>>331969859
Mostly, roguelikes are turn based (sort of) while roguelites are action
This is one of the only 3 games in considering getting next month. Looks nice.

What happened with this game? The trailers from E3 looked really fun, but from the current trailers it looks like the really toned down the bullet hell elements.
I hate shit that is super-trendy. Every fucking game out there is roguelike or roguelite, which I am pretty sure just means 1. Permadeath and 2. Procedural generation in some capacity. That shiy is a fucking buzzword. I want to filter it on steam. Half of the new greenlighted early access crowdsourced kickstarted faggot fuck shitpost games that clutter up the steam store with their low quality scam-a-rams trash are roguelite. It literally makes me want to stop playing video games
