Spyro. There was an immediate decline in quality after the fourth game. Then the legend of spyro series threw all the stuff that made those games good out the window, the characters were used to launch an action figure line, and then the franchise promptly disposed of.
Sure crash has been dead for longer but at least we got some sweet kart racers.
Neither series was ever good, but Spyro has probably had a worse fate due to Skylanders. With Crash, at least the series is dead.

Both series instantly turned to shit after ND and Insomniac stopped handling them and never recovered.
I don't care about Skylanders so in my opinion both got it just as bad.
