Is Meta-Knight canonically stronger than Kirby and that's why they don't fight anymore?

Kirby has never defeated Meta Knight, he always runs away. Kirby has defeated Dedede many times.

However, in Kirby: Triple Deluxe, King Dedede defeated Dark Meta Knight and finally killed him.
