Personally, I'm hyped for no man's sky.
But whenever I look at threads for it on 4chan/gamerfaqs all I see is criticism threads. And the only defense is severe fanboys saying dumb shit like calling OP a troll. ITT reasons why you like NMS, or don't?

I like space. I like flying ships. I like scanning shit and learning/reading about it. I like shooting things in space. I like the idea of learning in universe languages. I like the idea of adapting to hostile environments.
NMS is offering this to me, and I have a PS4 so why not?
I'm sure Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen are great too. Unfortunately my PC is a toaster and those games aren't done yet.

If you weren't hype for space travel and aliens as a child, you didn't have a childhood. Add on my love for nature and this looks like a game that can fill that void I've had for a bit now.

The people excited for this are just the kind of people that need to get bitten to learn. For many people it was Spore or Elite Dangerous, ect.

That sounds perfect but I do hope there is a way to get into conflicts with factions and do big missions like blowing up their bases to lower their power in that area of space. Also it'd be cool to have a wingman to give commands to or to be able to call in back up from the faction you're working with. Little more phaser in this tricorder game wouldn't hurt.
There is LITERALLY nothing to do outside of planet hopping. The devs can spout memes like "there are one gorillion planets", but if there is nothing to do on the planet, the game is going to be garbage.

I've played it.
You literally just fly from planet to planet. Most of which are bleak and desolate wastelands, and explore. That's it. It's fun at first, but loses it's appeal very very quickly.
The games ideas are presented as something never done before but in reality it's been done a million times before. People that are excited for this honestly will probably end up playing the game for all of maybe 2-3 days and will find out that there's nothing worth doing. Then they will come to 4chan and complain about it.
