I've got a bad feeling they'd chop down the movesets. They already did so in SF5, and in a game like Darkstalkers where every single moves is an elaborately-animated, shapeshifting spectacle they'd be looking to cut corners any way they can.

A 3D Darkstalkers isn't even comparable to GG Xrd because GG has very cheap animation compared to Capcom games. You will find nothing in any Guilty Gear game that is as complex as pic related, which is a big reason why converting to 3D wouldn't work. This was also noted during Street Fighter 4's development, when they couldn't make fully animated moves like in 3 because it didn't look as good in 3D. Guilty Gear had its own approach to 3D and it worked great, but it's not what Darkstalkers needs.
