I see the GPD XD for $170 and it looks to be reputable. Specs don't look bad either.

N64 specifically is a bit of a bitch to emulate on anything other than a PC (even then it's iffy)

A PSP has native support for PS1 games through it's own emulator and homebrew. GBA games run great and Snes emulation is passable for non FX heavy games. Everything under that is good. Not to mention actual PSP games run on it as well.

It's not the most powerful but you can find them cheap nowadays.

I like collecting devices like these, that getting said they are a waste of money otherwise since you're phone can already emulate anything these things can but better.

I bought a Nvidia Shield K-1 Tablet. There is no reason to buy a retro handheld unless you literally want to go outside with it.

This really. I've got a Linux PC hooked up to a nice big display and I have it running every emulator you'd get on one of these handhelds and more.

It will be interesting to see what happens in another few years if we get decent x86 SOC chips so you really can make a portable Steam Machine.
