Dumping Vive webms
>have to move more than 4 inches and get out of your seat
literally dead on arrival product
>>331797830
Oh my god you would look like such a fucking idiot playing that.

>>331797912
Yea but that is only going to be the shovelware tier trash that is made for it
Within a month people will only use it for playing games its not made for and porn.

Waiting for him to hit or break something. Remember when the Wii was being viral marketed with people accidentally breaking their televisions?
Anyway at the price point people will go for the Rift because of the price, name recognition, and it focuses on the VR over the motion controls.
To me VR seems like something cool to try out for a week or two but I couldn't see myself strapping on the set every time I wanted to sit down and play a game.
>>331799116
You'd be surprised how much traction the Vive has gained in the VR community. Rift shot itself in the foot by selling the controllers separately, but they're also advertising themselves as just the headset.
There will of course be dumbasses that will break things, but I think the Chaperone system will do well to prevent such things from happening
>the cable though
I thought the cable would be an issue but from what I've read the only problem with it is that it has a sense of presence and breaks your immersion. However suspending the cable at a medium height can prevent it
>>331799551
I've heard the same. Wireless video is currently really difficult, so even to this day we need that cable.

Some day
I just want a decent sword and shield game but it will take a good design to get around the no contact
>>331800004
I just want to play a game where I can play with a really in depth gun. Something like reciever.
>>331800298
Racing games, simulators, ARMA-like shooters that have free looking mechanics, horror and CQC are the genres I would be interested in.
Honestly the headset is the only thing that may interest me, the controllers feel like advanced eyetoy crap.
Wish there was more vr discussion on /v/. Tried checking out the leddit discussions and the circlejerking is insufferable. The mental gymnastics they go through to justify Facebook exclusives is insane.
>>331800687
Imagine if we had /vr/
Why put a legendary drift car in a game if you gimp the fuck out of it? Damn thing refuses to drift.
Its only a matter of time untill we get videos of people tripping and breaking shit in their rooms because they didnt clean up a space for VR.
>>331800298
like this?

>>331801910
Why is there a mouse pointer on that screen?
>>331802136
We already have webms of people falling over trying to reach over fictional objects.

MOOOOOOT
VR looks fucking awesome. Especially the Vive.
Wish I could afford it.
>>331798906
I've paid zero attention to VR. Are the controllers just for tracking like the old EyeToy shit, or do they have buttons and analog sticks and shit for movement within the world? All I've seen so far is rail shooters and games where you're sitting still.
>>331803093
A lot of games use a gamepad, which is why the Oculus comes with a Bone controller.
As for the special controllers, I believe the Oculus ones will have analog sticks and the Vive ones have sort of touchpad things.
>>331803093
Look in the post youre replying to, theres that camera thing on that ceiling which is a vive lighthouse that tracks your movements so its a combination of both controller movement and your actual real life movement.
>>331802642
source?
>>331801345
what NFS game is that?
>>331803093
Moving with the joystick is the fastest way to induce nausea. Most devs are experimenting with other forms of travel like teleportation.
>>331803632
I think it's The Crew.

Karl and Alfabusa are pretty chuckleworthy if you're into Warhammer and 40K.
>>331803632
The Run.
It's pretty awful, if it's running faster than 30FPS the dust/snow/water effects lose their shit and you can't see.
>>331803093
Movement depends on the game. Hover Junkers is a FPS developed for VR only and they use the controller as a simple WASD joystick that moves the ship in whichever direction you're facing
>>331803632
>>331803708
>>331800298
you could just do this in real life dude
>>331798719
This looks absolutely fucking retarded and that apartment is slum tier. Everyone involved in this should probably kill themselves.
>>331804174
>>331804218
Why is it slumtier? Do you need posters all over your wall?
>>331798719
He gets pretty close to that TV, how long before he destroys it? All that needed to happen was for him to turn left.
>>331804434
In the video the guy says he knows it's there when the guy on the couch mentions it
Can you turn the gun around and shoot yourself in the face in these games?
>>331804817
It bricks the headset
>>331800004
Vanishing Realms is doing something like this.
>>331798653
Imagine all the bitches he got that night.
>>331798906
That kid is going to ruin his knees trying to play games like Hover Junkers.
>>331805796
Better than ruining them playing Sperm Junkie
>>331804174
Fuck I miss when you could get air time like that with turbo.
