Why is /v/ not more excited for No Man's Sky?
>>331769774
I think that image sums it up
Because it will fail miserably.
>>331769774
Spore 2: Space Boogaloo.
it's going to be shit
>full priced indieshit that will undoubtedly fail to deliver
>>331769774
>procedurally generated
Well, I'm done here.
>they even highlighted the red flag
That's so sweet of them
>>331769774
I'm excited, but I'm just waiting patiently. There's not much to talk about. It just looks comfy, and that's acceptable to me.
Doesn't meet some peoples' autistic standards though.
>>331769774
because I got sold really similar shit with starbound and I don't need to get rused again in the third dimension.
Lack of good multiplayer.
I never was
>>331769979
Came in here to post exactly this.
Can't wait for yellow planet with red grass and blue planet with green grass.
Is this that game with no gameplay where everything is randomly generated but still somehow the same?
>procedurally generated music
>Their previous games
kek
>>331769774
>no mp
Why should anyone play this?
>>331769774
>Procedurally generated
Why don't you ask Elite:Dangerous and Frontier Developments how that procedural generation is turning out for them.
>>331769774
no multiplayer
MATH FUNCTIONS IN VIDEO GAMES FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER
I'm almost certain there'll be no depth to its gameplay mechanics. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.
Might give it a shot when it's on sale once, but I'm definitely not excited for it.
>>331770161
holy shit what a mess
There is no gameplay, it's going to be Spore all over again.
>>331769774
SIXTY UNITED STATES DOLLARS
I'm hoping it's good, but spore killed something inside of me that makes it incapable to be hyped for something like this.
>big empty walking simulator
>$60
Gee I wonder
WHAT? DEVELOPERS DON'T TEST THE GAME MANUALLY?
>>331769774
>Procedurally-generated
That is exactly the reason I'm not excited for it.
>procerudally generated music
Lol, it's gonna be shit
>>331769856
First post isn't always right, but god damn if this isn't spot on.
To elaborate: procedural generation is something that is theoretically amazing, but practically shit. I applaud No Man's Sky for developing our collective ability to utilize and understand procedural generation, but it is far from sophisticated enough to be enjoyable now.
I can't wait to explore the planet with dinosaur guys eating blue grass and pink trees.
Then, when I'm tired of that planet, I'll go check out the one with dinosaur guys eating red grass and green trees!
ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES
>>331770161
I'm still mad about that fucking game, all I wanted is a goddamn excitebike remake you fucking hacks
>>331770726
IT JUST WORKS!
It seems like the least fun game ever conceived.
>>331770726
>>331771670
That's fucking stupid
>E:D simulates the galaxy 1:1
>Hurrr it will take everyone a million years to explore E:D!
Because even though it's huge and takes place in space it still looks like a worse experience than Subnautica. And I much prefer space to the ocean.
So can someone tell me why this isn't Minecraft:Space Edition? Because that's exactly what it looks like to me, a travel simulator devoid of real content.
Excitement burnout for being teased/shown for waaaay too long. It'll probably be interesting, but i'm not strumming one out over it.
Wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle.
>>331772171
That's what it is.
Except you can't even construct your own unique spaceship.
>>331770726
>virtual probes
well, I guess that's a nice name for generator driven property unit tests...
>>331772171
Minecraft is voxel editing. Nms isn't. Minecraft is basically legos. Nms isn't, you just explore, you can't create
>>331769774
>PROCEDURALLY -GENERATED
says it all really
Always up for space games. ill hold out for opinions from people who have played the game.
>>331772421
So it's even MORE devoid of content?
>>331769774
Why would procedurally generated be better than human made?
