What's the best ADVENTURE game /v/?
>>331750309
dwarf fortress adventure mode
Skyrim with mods.
>>331750487
Throwing rocks at squirrels, getting mugged by goblins and stealing mittens isn't that adventurous
>>331750309
if you only care about the adventure part than definitley Xenoblade X
Anything that doesn't bog you down with a bunch of BS sidequests or cheesy hokey garbage romance.
Which means you'll have to scratch off anything made by Square Enix, Platinum, Monolith Soft, or anyone who thinks anime pretty boys deserve a spot anywhere in a video game.

I'm fine with romance, but I'd prefer that if there are sidequests that they expand on the story or characters, not just fetch quest for items.

Morrowind and Oblivion. Dragon's Dogma got the whole ADVENTURE thing quite well too.
>>331750868
Sounds like the start of a great adventure to me.

I've started Morrowind on multiple occasions, but as soon as I can't progress the main story until I've leveled up, I just run around trying to find sidequests but not with much success.
I don't know, it just felt easier in Oblivion. But that I've played like 5 times, although I never did play the expansion.

The Wind Waker
>>331751623
I've already played all 3D Zeldas, sorry.

Oblivion/skyrim
Dragon's Dogma
Shadow of the Colossus
Terranigma
Mario RPG
Chrono Trigger
Fable
Grandia
Tibia
Maple Story
Those are all the games i can think of, at the moment, that gave me that ADVENTURE feeling.

>Terranigma
Shouldn't I play Soul Blazer -> Illusion of Gaia -> Terranigma in that order?
>>331750309
It is now Reyn time in this thread.
Having never played the Breath of Fire games, are they adventurous?
>>331752090
Doesn't matter the other games are only connected in concept only.
RPGs need to tell you when you're about to start a grind quest.
>>331752371
Okay, but gameplay-wise, like do they evolve during the trilogy?
>>331752597
Yes. The gameplay becomes more polished.
>>331750309
>all these millenials mentioning Skyrim
Yeah nothing like a great adventure where all quests send you to dungeons and you spend 90% of time there.
>>331752697
Okay, but then maybe I should start with Soul Blazer then...if it's worth playing, that is.
Is it?
Elma is bestXeno
Earthbound if you want something not-fantasy.
>>331752847
Its pretty good, but after playing terranigma first SB seamed like a tech demo. Despite saying that i would suggest playing terranigma first as its the most complete adventure and best played blind.
>>331753626
I see. Well, then maybe I should play Terranigma first then. Thanks.

Chrono Trigger is a must.
