The only thing DS2 has going for it is it's PvP, which is why it has a lot more twitch views/ youtubers still making videos about it.
DaS had it's time but the meta has gone stale, and BB PvP has always been boring as fuck.

This. Even then the most glaring issues with the game is world design which doesn't affect gameplay. It's a solid action game either way.

Dark Souls II is the first Soul game for a LOT of people. It's the most popular one.
In that sense, many people just can't see beyond the surface because they lack the background necessary to see what is a flaw and what isn't.
It's the weakest Soul game, it doesn't fix the issues it's predecessors had but create new ones and doesn't deliver in areas that the others already nailed it. But if it's your first one or you never played the others, good chance this will go over your head.
Anyway, we've been over this for 2 years straight. How long until we stop talking about it? Let's move on.
