Epic newfag memes aside, the game itself is just mediocre; pretty standard Ninja Theory fare.
The story itself was incredibly lackluster and didn't really go anywhere, it's like it was written by someone who forgot Virgil was supposed to be a bad guy, realised they'd reached the end and thought "FUCK", quickly turning him into a villain.
Also didn't like the whole shoulder button weapons. Felt really clunky to use.

-have guns that are way to powerful
-very easy
-dumbed down combat
-terrible story with uninteresting female leads
-main antagonist is some douchebag that runs a big company
-loud, obnoxious music
-permanent lock on that prevents you from having any freedom in combat (even worse in DmC)
-easy to stay in the air
-combat is slower
-dodge is mapped to a button
-moves are way too easy to pull off
-tedious bullet sponge "expose the weak point" boss design
It's like the hated DMC so much that they emulated the worst one in the franchise just to spite the fans

They essentially said that Dante was fucking gay and that if you didn't like Donte you were fucking gay, too. It tried to hype up Donte as cooler, better, and fresher than Dante.
You shouldn't try to sell longtime fans of something by kicking the thing they like in the nuts and pushing the new and different thing.

DmC2 just isn't financially viable. DmC sold like shit and was beat in sales by the HD collection, and DmC Definitive Editions sold even worse and was beaten by DMC4 SE. DMC5 is the next logical game, and hey, in their report it said that DMC was one of the continuing franchises 2017 and onward.
