depends on what you want in an FE game. Most hardcore fans consider 4&5 to be the best, some people like 7 because its pretty well rounded, has a likeable cast and was the first NA-released game, some like Radiant Dawn, etc.

I enjoyed the overall experience of it the most, but there are definitely Fire Emblems with superior gameplay.
