Senpai vice city was amazing back in the days because it imrpoved so much over gta 3 for general freeroaming it was mega fun.
But the story amazingly boring.
Just try replaying now in modern days, you'll see it.. or maybe you'll enjoy it - it's purely subjective.

San Andreas > GTA V > Ballad of Gay Tony > Vice City stories > the rest in any order.

What? The atmosphere in GTA V was fucking terrible. It felt completely lifeless compared to the previous games.
The story wasn't much better, either. Niko wasn't an amazing character by any means, but he was a lot better than having to choose between Michael "FUCK YOU FEDS I WON'T BE YOUR LAPDOG ANY MORE, WELL OKAY MAYBE JUST THIS LAST TIME" De Santa, Franklin "Not CJ" Clinton or Trevor "LOL I JUST KILLED ONE OF THE PROTAGONISTS OF THE LAST GAME I'M SO WACKY AND UNPREDICTABLE" Phillips.

I enjoyed gameplay - free roaming to be specific - after I finished story in 1 - 2 days after release I spent weeks playing around discovering things.
I have to admit I went trough 3 story playouts nothing was memorable.. I pretty much forgot all details.
But GTA online - I remember all heists and missions in details, maybe because I went for criminal mastermind challenge and the strong emotions made the memories seem more important hence they stuck with me over time..
As a conclusion when I say gta 5 i mean both single and online experience.

Why is gameplay in all of the games so lame? I fucking love vice city but the gameplay was fucking boring.
I hope the next GTA will have gameplay more like Max Payne because I'm a bit tired of the tap A to run shit we have now.
