It's been quite a bit since the last /v/illage.Lets get another one going.
>What is Wurm Unlimited?
A one time buy to play version of Wurm without the monthly premium cost and other restrictions that were previously behind a paywall. There's also private servers.
>What is Wurm?
Wurm is a true sandbox game where players can do anything from mining, milking cows, terraforming, to pvp.
Wurm also has a player driven economy as well as player driven politics between kingdoms and their respective kings.
We are currently playing on a pvp server building defenses.

Reminder it's a ded game.
>15 players average, /v/illage is at least half that
Map is simply too big for anything less than 1000 players, and there's not enough anything to make it better than most survival games.
SS13, Ark, even Minecraft. World's Apart is looking like a much better Wurm but in the sky.

comfy as fuck

I looked up a gameplay video and it looked kind of complicated/hard to get into. Is this game like Life is feudal where you have to do a shitton just to get some basic stuff or can I just build myself a little wooden hut and do something else within a few hours?
How many players can be on one server?
Is it fun or is it just a chore?
Is there a goal/stuff you have to do? For example survive the nights against some sort of threat or reach a certain destination?
This game looks like fun but I am not just sure If I want to spend money and invest a lot of time into it. Is it worth buying this if I will just play it every now and then?

>where you have to do a shitton just to get some basic stuff or can I just build myself a little wooden hut and do something else within a few hours?
The original game is like that but this server has 8x skillgain so you can basically start doing useful shit immediately.
>How many players can be on one server?
I think the server we are on is 100 or 250?
>Is it fun or is it just a chore?
It can be a chore, the fun comes from fucking around with other people, such as getting on a boat and going to harass the opposing kingdoms.
>Is there a goal/stuff you have to do? For example survive the nights against some sort of threat or reach a certain destination?
On this server there are two altars and you have to destroy one or the other depending which side you pick. We are on the darklight which means we have to destroy the whitelight. There are two kingdoms for whitelight and one kingdom for darklight.

>It looks complicated to get into
Depends. It's extremely autistic but most things are pretty intuitive (Axe blade + shaft = axe for example). Making something like an axe is fast, but improving it to where it's not total shit isn't. Basically when you first build something it's total shit, and you have to work on it to make it better which can take time.
Build houses is slow as shit but comfy and satisfying. Depending on what you make it out of and the size it can take half an hour or days.
>Is it fun or a chore
Grindy, yet autistically fun.
>Is there a goal
It's a pvp server, but mostly we're just trying to build up walls and shit to keep them out while training up our fighting ability. The other factions are smaller but drastically more skilled than us.
>Is it worth buying if I will just play it every now and again
/v/ has played this for a decade, if that answers your question.

Players is pretty irrelevant since all actions are psuedo realtime, like WoW. However there's only 100+ on one WU server and it's PvE 1x grind rates.
There's one other server that's boosted and only has 50.
The server they want you on is 20 AT MOST for like an hour or two US time.
There is nothing to do PvE.
There are simply not enough players to make PvP viable.
There is simply nothing to do anyway in PvP unless you get some dedicated GM or something, like any other survival game.
There is no goal, there is no passive threat, in fact your faction constantly spawns creatures that are friendly to you, and are the only source of monsters in the area. You get some more useful animals occasionally like horses but fighting them is worthless.
There's basically nothing and trust me, there's a lot that's fucked to the core with retarded design and programming issues like breaking your own shit putting it in a box.
Do you sometimes like chopping shit?

I do.

Thanks for all of the info. I don't think this is my kind of game, I'm not autistic enough to dedicate all my time making a nice looking house and stuff.
I would've loved games like Wurm and Life is feudal if they just didn't have a really long grind process for everything. I guess I'll save my money for something better.
Thanks again.

Even though things take a long time, it's really not that bad on time. You can just play for a while, make a little progress and leave.
Or you can help another person build a house and live together :^)

Sure, I guess. I just can't get into too complicated games because I usually lose interest or give up. I know that makes me sound like a faggot casual but I just want to build a cozy house, hunt some animals and kill people. It's a huge turnoff for me when It takes days just to build a house.
Also, I don't got a lot of money so I think it's better for me to save it for something I actually can get into and enjoy.
