That requires excessive grinding though. For most of the game all the character are pretty unique and all have their own gimmick like Wakka being able to hit flying enemies, Auron breaking armor, Rikku destroying robots in one turn, etc.

Outside of 4 which didn't let you customize shit, 9 is the only one where every character is unique. In every nearly every FF game you can make monsters that do 9999 damage with every attack or spell and know all the magic, 10 is no different from all those.

While the Junction was utter garbage and ruined the game, as I mentioned above, I did learn it. It's easy as shit and incredibly exploitable. I don't play the card game. In a game that I desperately wanted to beat as quickly as possible, I didn't want to waste my time on a tedious minigame that would have just kept me playing even longer. The most I played of that game was in FFXIV honestly.
