3 relies on knowing the plot and characters from the first two games.
Just make sure to watch the recap videos IF you decide to be a pleb and start with 4.
The only acceptable starting points are 1 and 4.
0 will NOT be a good starting point since it spoils something related to Y4 and Y5.
I can't stress it enough though that you should just start at 1.

Wasn't Dead Souls localization codeveloped with Yakuza team? Also current Yakuza 5+ engine wasn't developed in mind with English localization at all, so that goes to 0 and Kiwami as well.
But current Sega CEO said that they plan on making engines for future games in mind with easy localizations, so I hope that goes to Y6 as well.
